I had another great experience playing golf at Dessert Springs Golf Club. Each year, we have a trade expo at the JW, and you can choose to play in the tournament or.you can stay the day after and play the coirse for real. I played the palms course and teed off exactly at 6 am and done by 815am. It was a great morning and a great round of golf. Everyone was very helpful in checking in, renting golf clubs, getting carts, and the Marshall. I was the first one to tee off this morning and truly had a great experience out there. Great coirse and great people. Will be back next year to play again. Food and drink carts come around a couple of times, but make sure you load up and store it in the ice box on the cart. The course is fun, so be ready to hit some trick shots from the middle of the fairway. Lots of rolling hills and sand traps for your enjoyment.

We played the valley course and throughly enjoyed it! It is challenging but not unfair! Tough par 3 from the back sets of tees. Conditions were good, greens a little slow because of over-seeding but I’m sure getting better every day. Good pace of play! Don’t feel crowded by housing on this course beyond a couple holes.

My family stayed at JW Marriott for a short holiday and chose to play golf at this course, expecting a smooth and enjoyable morning. Unfortunately, something that should have been simple turned into a stressful situation. When we arrived at the bag drop area, there were no signs, no staff, and no instructions. We saw other guests bringing carts up the hill on their own, so we assumed this was the normal process. While I went to get our golf bags, my wife was waiting with our two young children. At that moment, an employee approached them and spoke in a very sharp tone, asking why we had moved the cart. It all happened very suddenly, and it caught us completely off guard. My younger child became frightened because the interaction felt very rushed and intense. My wife tried to explain calmly that it was our first time here and that we had simply followed what we saw others doing. Later, another staff member came and explained the correct procedure to us. During that conversation, he mentioned that many guests make the same mistake every day, which made it clear that the system is confusing and could be improved with better signs or communication. Despite everything that happened, we did not receive any apology or acknowledgment for the situation. Our family had hoped to enjoy a relaxing holiday round, but instead we started our day feeling unsettled. I genuinely hope the management will review the process at the bag drop area so other families, especially those with children, can have a smoother experience. If you are choosing this course only because you are staying at JW Marriott, I recommend considering other nearby courses where the experience feels more welcoming and organized.

Played the PALM side on 14 July 2025. The course staff was very welcoming and helpful. Complimentary range balls and a small chipping and putting service. The course look beautiful and has some great scenery. The layout has a good amount of hills which can create some blind spots. The course is pretty open but has its challenges of dog legs. The greens roll nice, bunkers well maintained, and has a lot of restrooms and drinking water for those hot rounds. My only critiques of this course are the tee boxes where bushy on some holes and a few fairways looked as if they hadn't been cut in some time. Other than that, this is a great course that all should enjoy. They also give military discount which was a plus!!!

Staff are amazing! Driving range is the Most scenic setting I have ever seen! This time of year is over-seeding and repair time so most courses are closed. Played The Palm and it was rough but the greens were fast! Very challenging but beautiful! A bit high priced for the condition but at the right time of year, this would be a 10 out of 10!
