I just played at this golf course a few days ago and as mush as I love lone pine this is hands down the worst condition of greens and fairways I have ever seen. To the board members etc. you all are truly doing a disservice to your Community and to all the people who are visiting that loves the game of golf. A few locals who still play’s at this course told me that this used to be one of the best course in the Eastern sierras but now it’s the worst. Mount Whitney golf course is truly a sad and Disturbing site to see to golfers from beginners to pros. If you are in town and want to play a round of golf drive about a hour north to a town called Bishop the course is on the left as you enter. The greens and fairways are immaculate and Beautiful and the food is amazing. Pictures of greens hole1 and hole 2 . not fairways but greens I had to putt on at Mount Whitney golf.

We stayed one night at the Mt. Whitney Golf Club in Lone Pine on January 1, 2026, as Harvest Hosts guests, arriving after dark and leaving early the next morning for a long drive. Even coming in late, finding the RV parking area was easy thanks to clear signage directing you where to go. The spot was gravel and fairly level, which made it simple to pull in, park, and get settled without any hassle. Once daylight came, the views around the property really stood out and showed just how open and scenic the setting is. When we woke up the next morning, there was a golf cart parked right outside our RV, which was a nice and unexpected touch. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to take advantage of it since we needed to get on the road early. While getting ready to leave, my girlfriend went down to the clubhouse to leave $20 for our host and was greeted by Ed. He came back with her to introduce himself and check in to make sure everything was good. He was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely appreciative, which left a great impression. I thanked him for the golf cart and let him know we would definitely come back when we had more time. Overall, this was an easy, comfortable Harvest Hosts stay with a personal touch that you don’t always get when RVing. It’s a great option for travelers passing through Lone Pine who want a quiet place to park with straightforward access and room to breathe. If you have more time, the golf course setting looks like it would be worth enjoying, but even as a simple overnight stop, this worked out very well and is a place we’d happily return to.

Cool course, great location but I wish they sold better merchandise with their logo on it!

The course is in very rough shape. Basically unplayable as the neither the greens nor the fairways have been mowed for sometime. Kudos to the employee who warned us about the conditions. We appreciate the honesty. We bypassed the bishop course to try the Mt Whitney course based upon the fictitious positive reviews. It’s obvious from the 395 the course needs a lot of work.

Kudos to Ed and staff for bringing the golf course back life. Previous management let the course fall into disrepair. There were weeds growing on the green and the fairways were pretty rough. Ed has worked magic and the course is now as beautiful as ever. incredible views of the Sierra, friendly staff, and a fun course to play. Thanks Ed!
