Played here for my second time on July 1st. The range is closed on Wednesday but all the shot game area and putting green were available and in pristine condition. The golf shop attendant was great and very helpful. The starter was kind and gave 5 star customer service. The course was in immaculate condition and you could see the maintenance crew working hard to put the finishing touches on for the Pacific Coast Amateur Championship. The NCGA membership grants a very nice discount for the golf fees and discounts in the golf shop. Picked up some nice apparel and Poppy Ridge putter cover. It was a great day of golf, and I was done by noon and headed home.

It's an experience. The drive up to the course is like finding an oasis out in the hills. Then once I was parked it was a comfortable golf experience. Nice breezes on the walk to the shop which would soon turn into the challenge of the round, but first an enjoyable meal with great service. I feel like if I described any more then it would rob anybody of the surprise and gifts which make up the course. The sense of scale, the approach to play, the character of the greens, the turf, and the bunkers. The divots were hardly filled, but I emptied two sand bottles and tried to do my part. I would love to play again. I played the championship tees which were challenging, fair and fun. I hit a lot of greens and fairways, but I'm going to get revenge on those tricky greens next time. One of my favorite logistical parts was 5 par 5's and 5 par 3's.

Beautiful course and conditions are incredible for a public track with some very challenging holes and great price as an NCGA member. Some of the staff are super friendly others seem to be pretty indifferent, very inconsistent. Hilly with great surrounding views but more designed to walk given how far tee boxes can be from the paths. Pace of play can be a major issue in the afternoon, easily over 5 hours. Overall though one of the best public courses in NorCal and for the price for members ($100) maybe the best.

A Challenging and Enjoyable Golf Course This is a well-maintained, pro-level course that's a true challenge, especially for an average golfer. The fairways are immaculate, providing a good roll after your drive. The greens are fast and tricky to read, making putting a real test. The bunkers are sandy, and the rough isn't too punishing unless you hit a shot way off course. I'm an average player, typically shooting between 95 and 105, and I thoroughly enjoyed my round. The cost is $160 per person, but that drops to $125 with an NCGA membership. A golf cart is available for an additional $20. For a Friday, the food at the clubhouse was decent, and the waitress was great. The rest of the staff, including the marshal and the release manager, were also friendly and helpful. However, the young (20's) employee in the pro shop was antisocial and lacked good customer service. For a course that costs $160 a round, I expect better for that, I can only give a 4 star.

Good condition but the course is just too barren for me. Not my style. Greens were good and fast. Fairway is cut quite short - almost a tight lie on every approach. Lots of roll on most tee shots. Fun to play, but I like trees (until I hit one).
