Course is in good shape and for the most part, they do a good job maintaining a respectable pace of play. Good confidence building course too. Pretty wide open.

Course is kept in extremely great condition year round. If you tee off early, it is never backed up. Even during the day they keep it moving very well for a busy course. Very fair pricing and well taken care. Makes for a very enjoyable round of golf. Highly recommended!!

Nice challenging course but fun. Front nine flat and back nine abit hilly. All in all, my favorite in the Sacramento valley@

I played Empire Ranch on 1/13/26 & during the front nine experienced a bout of kidney stones. I bailed on the round after the front nine & approached the pro shop staff for a 50% refund. I had paid $51 for the round & was given $14 in the form of a rain check. Staff tried to explain that this was the standard procedure and refused to approve my request of $25.50, saying that refunds were based on other factors…which never made mathematical sense. Long story short…I took the $14 refund & promptly started calling my golf pals (15 people) & explained the above & encouraged them to avoid Empire Ranch in support of me being screwed over. I also called 5 other local courses and was told that their policy drastically differs from Empire’s. I will use my flimsy refund on my next, and last round @ Empire Ranch. I will also tell future foursome partners about this experience and encourage them to spend their money elsewhere. Too bad because Empire has always had a good reputation as a golf course…but management could take a course in customer relationships. Adios- John Amato

We had a several guys out at Empire Ranch G.C. this weekend and the course conditions were fantastic. I must say, I wish the Marshall (if there is one) would help keep pace a bit better... This course plays extremely slow when its busy. We were out on Saturday afternoon, teed off around 1:30p, and the round took about 6 hours... That is my only gripe. Course conditions are fantastic, and the grass isn't scorched from the heat. Fairways look fantastic, and greens roll pretty true and fast. I think local golfers, who play this track regularly, should take a bit more care of the greens. Too many pitch marks going unfixed. The greens are fantastic IF people take care of them. This is a great course because of its layout and condition. Lets all do our part and keep it that way!
