I played twice here ...lovely course which challenges you...need to play straight ...and need to know how to read the greens well. i enjoyed the games with my group.

My friend and I were paired with an older couple (husband and wife) and they were very sweet people but unfortunately the wife did play pretty slow and we got behind pace because of this. Sometime around hole 6 we started getting eagle eye stared at by an official riding around and my friend and I were sternly warned about falling behind. He watched us for a solid two holes following us around on each and every shot. Really really annoying and unprofessional and he didn’t speak with the actual people who were playing slow with us. Well, on at least two more occasions throughout the day we were followed and watched again by other officials and again another official stared us down for another two holes and then warned us again without saying a word to the older golfers they paired with us who were actually the ones slowing us down, THAT sure doesn’t help us play any faster and actually made us hit worse shots while being stared at. (We are much better than average golfers by the way). Spending that much money to have that happen was quite a disappointment after taking a flight to San Diego just to play this course. Aviara, please do better with this type of experience and coach your staff to be more professional.

The course looks and feels like a botanical garden with smooth fairways and fast greens. Beautiful views from every tee box, huge greens, and strategic water hazards that seemed to be exactly where my ball wanted to be. A little pricey, but I don't play here every week.

Aviara golf club does not disappoint. After playing in the desert it was a nice respite. Friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, tour level conditions but played difficult, yet forgiving.

Every hole feels intentional—lush, immaculately kept, and framed by coastal breezes and rolling terrain that keep you thinking on every shot. The layout is challenging but fair, rewarding smart play without ever feeling punishing. Greens are pristine, bunkers are sculpted perfectly, and the pace of play actually respects your day. What really sets Aviara apart is the vibe: calm, polished, and quietly world-class. The service is dialed, the practice facilities are top-tier, and the views make you pause mid-round just to take it in. It’s the rare course that feels like a tournament venue and a relaxing escape at the same time. If you love golf that’s beautiful, strategic, and impeccably run—Aviara is unforgettable. One of those rounds you keep replaying in your head long after the scorecard’s tucked away. ⛳️✨
