Came to play 18 with some friends, drove 2 1/2 hrs from Visalia and it was the best decision we made. I really enjoyed the canyons that surrounded us and then hole 10 had the view of the beach. We will definitely come back. Well I made it back today 5/17/2025, this time I had a bacon breakfast burrito from Mulligans bar and grill and it was delicious. Weather was great. Only thing I would change is the cart paths and trails are horrible, they really need to be updated very uncomfortable cart ride. But I will do it again, I'll just stay off the paths.

We noticed a significant change in the Avila Beach Golf Course, once known as one of the most beautiful and unique courses on the Central Coast. The first 9 holes were muddy, and the fairways were overrun with weeds and high grass, leading to our cart getting stuck in the mud multiple times. The back 9 was dry and had somewhat better fairways. On the 18th hole, we had a gallery of people watching us tee off, which was an interesting experience amidst the challenges of the day.

Played last weekend. The course is getting in better shape. Cart girl Jackie was awesome. Super nice and made really great drinks. Made it back around to us pretty quick.

We have always loved staying in Avila, and golf is one of our special times while staying there. AVILA COURSE IS SOO CONVENIENT, right there next to our resort, and the layout is a nice challenge, and we really look forward to playing there. All that said, the course is not being kept up like it was. The fairways are really a long rough cut, and almost impossible to find your ball. The bathrooms are deplorable, and literally frightening. Broken and rotting cabinets, toilet that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months, with bugs and mold. I was laterally uncomfortable about closing the door, and made my partner stand outside to keep watch. Riding in a cart is like off road driving through the back woods, and mostly unusable due to lack of path maintenance, not to mention parts of the path are closed forcing one to drive into oncoming drives from other tees. It is very sad for what would be a wonderful course.

I just love the setting! The greens of the fairways and the ocean in the distance is just a short walk over the bridge and boom ur in downtown seaside Avila Beach!! Places of interest are my favs! Blue Moon Over Avila French Restaurant Amazing staff and the food is exquisite Ask for the best waiter Marlon or Tanner!!! They will def take care of your every need! Old Custom House Breakfast Lunch Dinner Dine inside Sit at the beautiful bar or Done outside and bring your furry family members because they even have a menu just for our beloved pups!!! Starting in May is their Farmers market which is right in front of all the shops and restaurants!! I believe it starts at 4-8pm live music, local vendors have everything you could ever imagine and the fresh produce from our local farms is fantastic! Check out Hula’s Bill’s Beachcomber Sea Barn Flip flops, sunscreen, souvenirs, food, ice cream, coffee, rent a beach cruiser, rent a boogie board! Enjoy!!!!
