Playing golf at this course was the highlight of our trip. We rented clubs and a cart and it wasn’t very expensive. The best part though was the man at the pro shop. He made our whole experience great from the moment we walked in the door. I wish I remembered his name. If you’re spending a couple of days on the island you should definitely take a couple of hours to play 9.

Pro shop is located at the top of the stairs before reaching the sand trap restaurant. Friendly staff. Beautiful course, great for walking or a push cart. You can upgrade to a golf cart but either way you will enjoy yourself.

Website says "Animals that are well behaved, on a leash, and picked up after are always welcome at Catalina Island Golf Course." They may change this by the time this review is posted because we just warned them after being kicked off. We've played this overpriced, run down golf course a number of times with our large dog walking with us. We keep him on a leash, trading leash responsibility as we hit our shots. We pick up after our dog. And despite his 100lb size, he's better behaved than the little terrier types so many like to cart around as if they're harmless. But today we were rejected. We sail to Catalina from San Diego a few times a year, and one of the things we like to do is a morning of golf at this course to enjoy the weather and get a nice walk around, plus it's fun taking a 9 hole walk with our dog. It isn't about the conditions of the course or price really, we can ignore that, just to have something to do on land besides the bar or a hike. But apparently policy has changed, and we were told he could not walk with us on the course. This was after we walked up to the pro shop, dog leash in hand, paid $100 for the two of us to play 9 holes on what is no better than a $20 executive course, used the facilities, and prepared to start the first hole. When I said that if we can't have him with us (and where would he be, we don't leave him on the boat) that we want a refund, the response was surprise. Supposedly the owner/manager is the one who made this decision, but this same person is too incompetent to keep their own policies and website updated.. so imagine how the course itself must be run. We got our refund after repeating ourselves. p.s. If you do come here watch for rattlesnakes.

Checked off a bucket-list item. Beautiful 9-hole island course with challenging, scenic par 4 & 3 holes. Played 18 because 9 holes feels like foreplay. Staff was extra helpful even finding me local transport from my room to the pro-shop steps. Top notch, a must play for golfers. Thank you

One of the jewels of the island, and easily the least crowded course in the country on July 4th. Who cares if it isn’t 18 holes? It’s a wonderful place to golf. My favorite course in SoCal.
