Deer Trails is a laid-back nine-hole track tucked into the Chaffee Crossing area of Fort Smith, favored by locals for quick loops and friendly vibes. The routing plays through flat parkland with generous landing areas, so newer golfers won't feel overwhelmed while experienced players can chase birdies with wedges and short irons. Subtle movement in the putting surfaces and a smattering of trees that pinch angles into a few greens provide just enough defense to keep scores honest. Pace of play is typically brisk and the clubhouse crew leans welcoming, making it an easy stop for a casual nine or an early-morning tune-up on the range.

I own a local business and I get advertising calls for deer trails golf course at least twice a week. Come on people stop calling me and basically harassing me and my business. I have talked to management at the golf course and they are no help. I am just about to the end of my rope with the phone calls.

A decent enough course for the price. I like the electric carts. Cart paths are pretty rough. Greens are generally in better condition than that of similarly priced courses. Course layout can be a bit tricky if your not familiar with all the box locations. Friendly staff. Good place to practice your game.
