I have played at Cimarron Golf Course several times before and have always enjoyed my experience, which is why this visit was so disappointing. I even brought a friend in from out of state because I told him this was one of the best courses in the area. Unfortunately, this round was nothing like my previous experiences. From the second hole, it felt as though our group was being monitored much more closely than other golfers on the course. The employee driving around with the towels was also the individual who repeatedly approached us about our pace of play, despite the fact that we were simply waiting on the group ahead of us and never had another group waiting behind us. There was no reason for us to play any faster, yet we continued to receive unnecessary attention throughout the round. What made the situation even more concerning was that the same employee passed our group multiple times without ever offering us a towel, while continuing to watch us closely. The repeated attention made us feel uncomfortable and took away from what should have been an enjoyable day of golf, especially after recommending the course so highly to my friend. I cannot say with certainty what the employee’s intentions were. However, as a group of young golfers and people of color, the way we were treated left us questioning whether our age or ethnicity influenced how we were perceived. We did not observe the same level of scrutiny directed toward other groups, and the experience left us feeling unfairly judged and unwelcome. Whether intentional or not, the treatment came across as discriminatory and did not reflect the level of professionalism or respect that every customer deserves. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, looks into this incident, and ensures that all guests are treated fairly and with equal respect.

Golf course: 4/5 it was fair but the greens were getting a little burnt but it is about to be summer. Bunkers could use more sand Facilities: 5/5 pro shop was nice, snack bar gal was polite and friendly, nice proshop staff. Now for the reason behind 3/5 stars. We had a teatime at 0815. One of our 4some showed up at 0750 and was putting his clubs on the cart when overhead we heard the pro shop tell him to check in first. No big deal, but he was just putting clubs on our cart after we waved him down. We got out on deck call and head to the tee, we are on the box at 810(5 mins ahead of schedule) and the starter with an attitude told us to get on the box because we were late. We said our time was 8:15 he checked his sheet and changed his tone and said “well regardless, it’s your box”. So we get ready, and the next group just drives right past us to the starter and starts audibly talking like they’re friends, mind you it’s in front of our tees and while we are trying to hit. So we get off, and every ranger on the course when we would wave or say hi we just got a smug look and no acknowledgement. I get it’s a sun city course where everyone in the community is practically a “member” there but it’s still a public course and all should feel welcome. We made the turn at 9 in about 1hr40 and finished in about 3.5 hrs but felt rushed nearly the whole time.

Cimarron is a beautiful links style golf course. In an area full of similar resort style courses this course stands out. Large generous fairways and fantastic undulating greens are what you will get here. You will miss the shade however. Bring your sunscreen and plenty of water. Bombs away!

Played 3 out of the 4 courses in Sun City Grand and enjoyed the newest course, Cimarron the most because of the Palm trees and views. In great condition. Quick beautiful greens with lots of slopes.

Pretty good course. Really liked the layout and fairways were great. Everyone was polite and the course was WIDE open. Fast pace of play. 4 stars because we had to pay for range balls.
