Very nice manicured private course in the Sun City area. A friend of mine works at another course that gets a reciprocal at Briarwood Country Club. So he had his GM call in and gets on. Clubhouse is in very nice condition, very large, dated, but all in all very clean. Members must enjoy the restaurant as it seemed to be packed all day, with play coming off and residents in the area. Full grass driving range and looked to be long enough to hit driver and full bag for warmup and practice. We went right out as it was quiet and not alot of play on course. Putting and chipping greens very nice, rolling true to course conditions. Track was very very reminiscent of alot of Sun City courses in its layout and navigation through the 18 holes. Very pleasant condition, nothing to complain about. Not a super demanding course, what you see is what you get. The back had a little more difficulty to it with more water features throughout. All the staff across the board were reall pleasant and nice and accomdating; proshop, outside services and restaurant. They prided themselves on making your experience at Briarwood Country Club wonderful. Great job B.C.C.!!!

What a great place to play! Course conditions were great, from tee to green. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I Highly recommend playing here!

Had a company event here. Great staff and tentative, food was delicious. Great time at the gathering. Large country club that can hold over 200 guess easily.

We were there to visit friends that moved there from Illinois. It's was a beautiful course. The food was great, everyone was nice. The golf course was great but a challenge. Had a great time!

The Briarwood Golf Club is clearly trying to reposition itself by opening up a happy hour to non-members, which is a positive step in theory. Expanding access can bring new energy and community interest. However, the execution during our visit fell short of that goal. Before arriving, we called ahead and were told the bar area was first come, first serve. Taking that at face value, I showed up right at 4:00 when they opened, expecting a straightforward experience. There were open seats at the bar and the overall crowd was light—only a couple of people seated at the bar and a modest number of tables occupied. Despite that, we were asked to wait because staff said they were overwhelmed. That explanation didn’t match what was happening in the room. It gave the impression that bar seating may have been held back in anticipation of members arriving, rather than truly operating as first come, first serve. If that’s the case, it undermines the whole idea of welcoming non-members. If the club is serious about opening its doors to the public, there needs to be a consistent and transparent approach. Guests shouldn’t feel like second priority or uncertain about whether they’ll actually be served after being invited in. The setting itself is pleasant but not positioned as a high-end dining experience, which makes the lack of accessibility even harder to justify. When you’re simply looking to stop in for a drink, being turned away from visible open seating isn’t a great look—especially when there are plenty of nearby options that offer immediate, straightforward service. In the end, we chose to leave rather than wait, and that says a lot. There’s potential here, but the club needs to align its policies and operations with the message it’s sending to the public.
