Description

Powell Golf Club offers 18 holes of flat, straightforward golf surrounded by open farmland and mountains in the distance. It's playable, uncrowded, and very walkable. Great for working on your game or enjoying a low-stress round. Solid value in northern Wyoming.

Overpriced rip off! Came here from out of town to try their course and it was atrocious! Their green fees are 65 dollars… let me repeat that SIXTY FIVE DOLLARS!… for some reason the lady at the clubhouse Brenda or Linda or something singled our group out and saw fit to come tell us we couldn’t have coolers when we hadn’t even started golfing yet and had no intention of taking the coolers out with us. Told her we wouldn’t take them out and she said “oh no the damage is already done” then said “you’re lucky this phone is ringing” and answered a call and drove off. Figured it was whatever and only up from there… nope. For SIXTY FIVE DOLLARS there were numerous tee boxes that were devoid of any grass, fairways that were basically sand, and greens that were literal DIRT! Not to mention splashing through the LAKES on the cart path due to their poor irrigation system which led to my wife’s phone getting SOAKED! PLEASE… save your money… go golf Lovell or Cody. Hell… go golf Sheridan or Buffalo… their green fees are actually reasonable and the fuel costs would offset SIXTY FIVE DOLLARS to get berated by the club attendant and hit greens that are deserts. Powell golf club… I won’t be back but fix your course for sake of people wasting their money there

Where do I begin...to start off to play 18 holes you're out $65. This does not sound bad until you consider the condition of the course. Throughout the course, you have to drive around numerous areas which have flooded due to their poor irrigation. You'd think that with their irrigation the grass would be properly wartered. As pictured, the grass is dry and dead. The greens are horrific, the bunkers are so dry they can't be considered as having sand. If the price for the terrible field of play was not enough, the people working the clubhouse were less than courteous. The older female was rude, unpleaseant, and seemed to single our group out as the one she wanted to "bully." You would think that for the price, the course would be in a playable condition. This is not not the case as it is apparant they could care less about the condition of the course. In all honesty, I will be finding better courses to golf next time I am in the area.

Great lil muni course. Came here with my nephew from out of state. We both loved the Desert 9. Surprised how green everything was for late July. Jane took great care of us from club rental to checkin, managing our tee time for less pressure and pace of play updates. Keep her happy; she was lovely to work with all day.

Powell is one of my favorite municipal courses to play in Wyoming. The greens have lots of movement and the length is challenging. The back 9 holes are a parkland course with fairly tight fairways and new redesigned greens. # 18 requires a lengthy drive to clear the wasteland. The front 9 is the newer portion of the course and winds its way over varied terrain, The signature hole is a lovely par 3 with a distance that varies between 190 yards to 130 yards and a drop of about 140 yards to a green protected by a pond. A lovely hole. The course is well maintained, the staff are great to deal with. My complaint is that the City of Powell does not support the course well enough, but the staff and the board do an incredible job with what they have. An amazing golf course for the small town of Powell. If you can only play Powell or Cody when you are outside of Yellowstone, I think Powell may be your best golf for the money.

Great spot. Very different nines. Only the front (Desert) was open. Fun track. I’ll be back!
