Absolutely beautiful course all the employees are amazing I would definitely recommend trying it out

Do not join the league here. The greens were in terrible condition all year. They don’t make up rain days so we lost out on two rounds of golf. For the last day of league we asked multiple employees if we could golf earlier in the day as we were headed up north later that day. We had confirmed with 3 people including a manager that we could golf early that day. The guy working the counter that morning wouldn’t let us golf our league and even forced us to pay full price for the round. Won’t be doing the league again next year.

Do not join the league here. No rain checks. Greens are dirt. Tee boxes suck. Management makes promises and then doesn’t deliver. I think we ended up paying more to be in the league then if we booked our own tee times because of the no rain checks. Only good thing is the grass cutting guy is super nice.

I have played this course a lot over the last 15 years given its proximity to where I live. I have golfed in a league here this season as well as the previous two seasons. Years ago under a previous generation of ownership this course was a nice hidden gem kept in great shape and pace of play kept to an acceptable standard. Greens, fairways, and tee boxes were well maintained. There were beautiful flower and landscape beds around the course and clubhouse. It was a great value. The last three years or so this place has definitely slowly degraded. Tee boxes are not maintained, many are rock hard, and they have severe crowns in them. Green complexes were allowed to die off on many holes early this summer. Apparently there was an issue with irrigation system issue and either no one realized the greens were not being watered or they couldn't get them repaired in a timely manner or perhaps they couldnt even temporarily irrigate greens while repairs were being made. Gross incompetence. On league afternoon/evenings you are supposed to make a tee time for league each week. Many players in league simply show up whenever they would like to and golf in fivesomes and bottling up the course and creating an excruciatingly slow pace of play. In general pace of play on the course is slow due to no course ranger ever present. Prices in the clubhouse for drinks have been raised to a level in which you would think you are in downtown Chicago. Price for play on a weekend I believe is around $70. Definitely better courses around at that rate or less. My final straw with this operation was when I finished my most recent round and stated to manager in clubhouse I lost phone on course and needed to backtrack and recover it and knew my path of travel. He declined my request stating that a staff member could go out and maybe take a look around the course. That would have been a needle in a haystack proposition when I knew my exact path of travel on the course during my round and staff member did not Liability reasons he stated. Gimme a break I've golfed and spent my hard earned money here enough so simply trying to recover a $1000 phone should be a reasonable request. One star instead of zero due to the rest of staff being nice and updated golf carts in the past season. This place can be turned around but needs competent leadership at the top and a desire to reinvest post covid revenues into the course. Paganica Golf Course is an example of an equivalent course in area that has transformed into a great value and well conditioned course.
