Description

Foxboro Golf Club is a scenic 18-hole course just south of Hudson, known for its rolling terrain and mature trees. The layout offers elevation shifts and a nice mix of holes that reward both big drives and soft wedges. It's one of those spots where locals bring friends to show off a favorite hometown course. Straightforward but never boring, it's a reliable round every time.

⛔️ Do Not Play Here — The Owner Is Unhinged This is hands-down the worst golf experience I’ve ever had — and it’s entirely because of the OWNER. We had a 5:12 PM tee time but couldn’t even start until 5:30-5:40 because the course jammed THREE separate twosomes in front of us. We had to wait at literally every tee box. At hole 3, we stopped briefly to use the bathroom and grab a drink — and somehow that triggered the owner, who came out raging, accusing us of holding people up, completely ignoring the fact that the delays were 100% caused by his scheduling. By hole 7 (TWO HOURS in), this maniac drives up and starts screaming at us. Not a polite conversation — yelling and swearing about how we were playing too slow. “It should take two hours to finish nine!” he shouted — even though we were on hole 7, waiting on every shot, thanks to the SIX golfers stacked in front of us. We asked the players ahead of us if he gave them the same treatment — he hadn’t said a word to them. Then he turned around and started screaming at the group behind us — and actually kicked them off the course. One of them was a beginner and he told them, “If they’re new, they should be at the range.” Unbelievable. Who treats paying customers like this? This man is unstable. His behavior is completely unprofessional and aggressive. We weren’t drinking. We weren’t being loud. We were just trying to play a casual round. But apparently, if you’re not a scratch golfer moving at lightning speed, you’re not welcome here. DO NOT give this business your money. The course is mediocre, the service is nonexistent, and the owner is a toxic, angry liability. People warned us before we went, and we didn’t listen. Learn from our mistake.

My husband and I live in Oregon and have golfed here many times. We felt like it had improved as far as maintenance but today I was disheartened as I tried to make a tee time explaining that I would rent a cart but my cancer ridden husband wanted to ride along while I golfed. I was informed that they do not allow this anymore. All people on course must be active golfers I was told. I guess they would have allowed me to book a tee time with cart if I were alone right? This was really upsetting as my husband has few outings lately and was really looking forward to it.

I’m writing this at 7:40 pm. Our tee time was 5:12. They put 3 twosomes in front of us. We had to wait to tee off until at least 5:30-5:40. The owner complained about us coming in at hole 3 to get a drink and use the bathroom. He said we were holding people up. He ignored that we had to wait every single tee box because of the twosomes they put in front of us. At hole 7 the owner approached us saying we needed to speed it up because two people left due to how slow we were playing. It wasn’t our fault they put 6 people in front of us. We asked the people who played in front of us if the owner said anything to them and they said no. So we were out there for TWO hours and he said we were too slow. He started swearing and yelling at us; “it should take you two hours to finish nine..” Mind you, again, we were on hole 7 after two hours… I suggest never to go here. I’ve never been yelled at for being slow.. two hours on hole 7.. Even before this happened a friend of mine told me “the owner is cranky” but I never expected him to YELL at us. He claims he was “talking” to us and asked us to speed up. That is not what happened.. He came up and started swearing and yelling from the beginning. Then screamed at the four sum behind us and kicked them out too. No one likes playing here, we only were there because we had new golfers with us. He told the four sum behind us “if they’re new golfers they should go to the range.” This course is the worst in Dane county. The owner is horrible to interact with.

I’ve been golfing at Foxboro for years and have always appreciated the laid-back atmosphere, which made it the perfect place to bring my son. He’s fallen in love with the game, and being local, Foxboro has always felt like the right course for us. We’ve even looked past the poor condition of the tee boxes, greens, and “sand traps” because the overall experience had been positive — until today. I booked a tee time for the two of us, but upon arriving, I was told there’s now a new policy: no ride-alongs, and everyone on the course must be an active golfer. I explained to the older gentleman at the counter that my son was in fact playing with me, and that we’ve been out there many times before without issue. He told us we could go out this time, but not again in the future. I told him not to bother — we’d take our business elsewhere. We’ve been coming here weekly, but today was the last time. I’m incredibly disappointed in the lack of support for a young player’s budding enthusiasm for the game. Shame on you, Foxboro Golf Course.

Don't let the price fool you, you get what you pay for. The tee boxes are hard to get tees into, looks like they're not taken care of, they are not flat, alot of dips. Green are in ok shape! The layout is a little confusing, the course is very short. Carts are slow and dont seem to run very good.
