Description

Forest Point Golf Course, located in the heart of the Northwoods near Gordon, is a rustic and wooded nine-hole retreat. The layout winds through towering pines and natural marshland, offering a peaceful environment that's pure Wisconsin. It's a course that rewards accuracy over distance, especially with its tighter fairways and small greens. If you're looking to escape into nature while getting in a solid round, this course delivers.

Our family of five had taken vacation time, packed bags, and loaded the car with clothing, golf clubs, and groceries after looking forward for MONTHS to enjoying a week at Forest Point in Cabin #3. The deposit had been paid, Andrea had confirmed receipt and plans were all in order. Then the worst happened. Upon check-in at the resort (a drive of seven hours from home to resort), Andrea realized she had double booked! There was already a family in our cabin. All resorts were full. What now? Andrea apologized. She returned our deposit. That was it. What would YOU do?

Rustic rough 9 hole golf course and cabin-y clubhouse. I focus my reviews purely on the golf course portion for what I do and not the overall resort or other offerings. The staff was nice and the clubhouse while small was a local and friendly while there wasnt anything for a pro shop.. The course quality was a little rough only on some fairways and teeboxes where many fairways were mowed grass. The first 4 holes were pretty tight and side rolling fairways to work with for tough ball positioning. This is a north woods course so dont expect pga either so spacing was nice to have thick treelines between the holes to separate them out. The 3/4rds island green which i think was number 3 was a play. Greens were a little soft and the ball rolled a little slower but was puttable. I wouldve liked a little bit better quality but the layout was entertaining and a good atmosphere to play.

“This is a fun and well-maintained course — we’ve been coming up for three years in a row and always enjoy it. Unfortunately, this time we got stuck behind a group of six guys with a boombox, blasting music and playing very slowly. They were even running around on the greens, which really took away from the experience. The course itself is great; it was just the inconsiderate players that made it frustrating.”

Tried to take my family golfing. Kids age 6 and 7. Along with my wife. It was a major inconvenience to take 2 carts out with only 2 of us golfing. Then the gal at the “clubhouse” tells me if any of the kids touch a club they’ll be required to pay double. My son isn’t the second coming of Tiger Woods, he’s 7. Playing a round of golf consists of putting on one hole, hitting a drive somewhere along the way and eating snacks in the cart the rest of the round. But if he touches a club, he’s got to pay double. Disrespectfully, the place is garbage and I’ll never go back. I will also share my experience with anyone who will listen. There are plenty of other courses in the area that are family friendly and interested in investing in future customers.

This was our 4th stay with Andrea at her Forest Point Resort. We had a wonderful week in our cabin. Some of our favorites about this resort: 9 hole golf course, crystal clear lake, Andrea's hospitality, great club house bar, small size & quaintness of resort. Looking forward to our trip next year. Highly recommend.
