Description

Cato Park Golf Course in Charleston is a municipal-style, executive-friendly nine that’s designed for quick, convenient golf rather than an all-day affair. The course is compact and approachable, making it a great option for beginners, juniors, and anyone who wants to work on the basics. Because it’s shorter, it puts more emphasis on wedges, distance control, and putting than on driver-heavy play. It also works well as a practice round when you’re short on time—easy to walk, easy to replay, and good for dialing in scoring clubs. If your goal is to get outside, keep the round moving, and sharpen your short game, Cato Park does that job well.

Delightful. Built on the old Edgewood Country Club course. Short but challenging executive course. Challenge is in rise and fall in elevation, and narrow fairways. Greens are, at best, retro Scotland, circa 1880s. Come here for to work on your irons and your hill play, not your putting. Well worth $9 green fee.

I’m not from around here and just went and checked this park out ! It’s free so yes the greens are in bad shape, but coming here and practicing and getting a small workout in is awesome! I’d really like to find a way to have the people that love this place come together and work with the city to get this back in shape it has great potential!

There really isn't much for greens but it's a FREE 9 hole course open to the public so I'm more than in love with the capability to practice at no cost

Awful. If i could give a zero i would. Greens included sand flats, fist sized holes, 4 different types of grass/weeds long and short. Paths and steps were not maintained and falling apart. Much of the fairway and rough were same lengths. Absolutely terrible they call this a golf course. Id be better off golfing in my backyard. Its no wonder they dont give rainchecks or refunds. I know now why the only accept cash. Total racket. City of charleston golf course. Pathetic.

Free city run golf course. There is a looping walking/bike path. Also, a mountain bike pump track beside the entrance from the parking lot.
