Description

Salish Cliffs Golf Club, located on the Squaxin Island Tribe's land near Shelton, is one of the most highly rated public courses in the Pacific Northwest. Designed by Gene Bates, the course features dramatic elevation changes, thick forest framing, and pristine bentgrass from tee to green. Every hole feels secluded and immersive, offering players a championship-caliber experience that is both visually stunning and technically demanding. The service is top-notch, and the clubhouse, located near the Little Creek Casino, adds to the high-end resort feel.

We played Salish Cliffs twice recently; once in July and again in late September. Both times it was a great experience. A big shout-out to Geoff and Tyler for the super job they do running a first-class operation. Very nice pro shop; excellent restaurant adjoining with great food choices; top-notch practice facility/driving range; modern electric carts with GPS ... and most of all, just a very beautiful and challenging, but fair, track to play! Geoff gave us great service making reservations and answering a bunch of questions about what to expect, tips, and suggestions to make our rounds very enjoyable. This is a well-run and very beautiful course to play ... in a great setting and only 20 minutes from the I-5 interchange in Olympia. Played a lot of courses in this state and California (especially Palm Springs) and Salish Cliffs ranks right up there as an outstanding golfing experience. Have to also say that on a sunny fall day with all the trees/leaves/color, it really becomes a tribute to how beautiful the Pacific NW can be! Thanks Geoff (and Tyler) for all your help and welcoming attitude! Made our trek very worthwhile!

Well worth my hour and twenty minute drive from Longview! You definitely get what you pay for - smooth, undulating, uniform-cut greens; and lush, well-maintained fairways that lend to optimum ball-striking and lower scores. Challenging layout but so much fun with lots of elevation changes. The staff at Salish is awesome - so very friendly and professional - especially my favorites Geoff and Misty. Carts are always immaculate. Great food in the restaurant! I rate this course in the Top 10 of the now 329 I've played all over the country; #1 within 2 hours drive from Longview. I just love playing at Salish Cliffs!

Top 5 public course in Washington. Everything about this course is top notch. The layout and course conditions were absolutely perfect. Would play here every day if I could. Had an absolute blast here!

Just finished two rounds here yesterday, easily the best course I’ve played so far in Western Washington. The fairways feel like carpet and the bunkers have soft ocean-sand texture. Greens were a bit slower after being punched last week but still in great shape. The staff was amazing and friendly, and the pace of play was smooth even on a busy Saturday. The price was fair for the condition and playability, and they offer a military discount, which is a great bonus. Definitely worth the drive and in my opinion a better value and condition than Chambers Bay or Newcastle. I’ll be coming back often.

Drove 2 hours to play, 1st time there end of August 27/25. Worth the drive, course is beautiful and challenging. Very very well kept fairways, greens and bunkers. Tee boxes that are actually flat and well maintained. Bunkers were soft and the sand was deep. Use to hitting out of rock hard dirt at most public courses. Windy... Not sure if that's the norm, forgot to consider it when choosing clubs a few times and the staff even warned me... Staff was wonderfully helpful! My only complaint is they close early. I would love to play this course during the later part of the evening while the sun is going down. If the clubhouse is closed and you are hungry you can eat at the casino. Food there is very good. The convenient store at the corner of the Casino also has quick ready made food to grab.
