Description

White Horse Golf Club in Kingston is a championship-level course tucked into the forest just a ferry ride from Seattle. With massive fairways, huge undulating greens, and a bold layout, it's one of the best public tracks in the state. The back nine, in particular, is memorable with dramatic elevation changes and tight shot requirements.

Great condition, both fairways and greens.the whole course was just so green and clean Maintenance crews did an excellent job. A true target golf with undulating fairways and greens, wow, those greens are no joke, making it very challenging and yet satisfying. Front 9 is so secluded and peaceful, literally feels like you are in a different world, lots of fresh air and zen all around. Then grab some yummy burger at the grill after the round, or cannabis from the store inside the clubhouse, heehee, j/k. Everyone at White Horse, pro shop and Cedar Grill staffs are super friendly and super nice. Also, the only way for us to get to White Horse was via the Kingston ferry ride. Yes it was time consuming but very relaxing. You can play card games while waiting for the ferry, or take a quick Power Nap if needed, instead of being stuck on traffic. Bathroom: clean.

Course is beautiful and it’s in great condition. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only complaint is not having a shuttle from Seattle (Edmonds) to Kingston. As we all know the ferry is crazy busy on weekends so having to wait at least an hour to get back on the ferry to go home is a huge hassle. We ended up driving around so we didn’t have to wait for the ferry so it was a very long day of golf!!

Well kept secret! It takes a ferry ride from Edmonds to Kingston to get there, but worth that extra cost and time. It's in fabulous shape right now.

White Horse is a challenging, fun course out in the woods northeast of Seattle. I've played here for pleasure and also in tournaments and there are some great moments throughout the track. The first hole is great because it has a nice long carry over a very large fairway-wide bunker that really sets the tone for the day. Next, you've got a long par 4 with a steep, narrow green and lots of trouble around. As you get deeper into the round, you'll notice there is so much variety, with lots of up and down moments that you really need to show up and play your top game. Throughout the course, you'll notice that there are lots of opportunities to hit long shots, but the trees are not to be messed with - there are deep bushes and really nowhere to go if the ball goes long or wide. So you must be mindful of your distances and your shot shapes. Par 5s: there are definitely some bombs-away opportunities that can set you up for reasonably achievable eagle opportunities, if you have the guts to go for it. If you're lucky, like I was, you'll even see a couple deer walk across the fairway and say hello. Par 3s: There are lots of very nice valley par 3s that require a decent long strike and precise aiming. Some of them will test your longer irons, and some of them will challenge your ability to spin the ball. Some will challenge your shot shaping. The greens are often multi-tiered, hilly, and fast. It will require that you pick a landing area and hit great lag putts to get up and down for par. For example, on the back nine, there's a valley par 4 with a very uphill shot with an incredibly undulating green. Draining it for par with 2 putts is not easy, even for great golfers. I've watched many people lose their rhythm in those moments. :) In terms of practice facilities, there are multiple putting greens, a chipping area, and a natural grass driving range into a big valley. Overall, I would say this is a reasonably challenging course that may knock you down from time to time, but if you're ready to focus hard and take some calculated risks, you'll have a great time out here.

10/5 STARS. Fantastic course and great people. The layout is challenging but fair and the greens are smooth. Came here as part of our Washington golf trip and forgot my brand new range finder on the cart. The staff shipped it to me across the country. Love this place.
