Description

Bristow Manor is a Prince William County staple with a modern daily-fee feel and enough length to keep strong players honest. The course typically features a mix of wooded holes and more open stretches, with hazards positioned to make you choose between aggressive lines and safer, wider targets. It’s a course where the driver can be a weapon, but only if you’re controlling it—misses can find trees and force recovery golf. Greens and surrounds play a big role in scoring; you can hit a lot of greens and still walk off with bogeys if you’re on the wrong tiers or miss in the wrong direction. Overall, it’s a solid “serious round” option in NoVA—challenging, varied, and built to host competitive play.

Had a great round here today. The course was in solid condition given the weather we’ve had this summer—much better than some courses still charging $100+ with dead greens and nonexistent fairways. Very tough track with a layout that makes you think for every shot. Greens rolled true, save for a few dead spots here and there and some inconsistent speeds between holes. Fairways were also pretty well kept, but the roughs had some parts with crab grass and clovers (also lots of dead spots around fringe). For what I paid, though, this was an unbeatable experience in this area.

Bristow Manor is a beautiful golf course located in a rural setting in northern Virginia. The course is a relatively open links style layout that is both well maintained and fun to play. My only gripe about the course is the fact that play was extremely slow, it took my group over 5 hours to play 18 holes. Other than that I enjoyed the course and would recommend it to anyone in the northern Virginia area who is looking for a well conditioned course at a fair rate.

Unique experience for an intimate wedding. The venue is cute with proper refinement. It has all the trimmings you'd expect from a manor house of the period. There was an exterior tent used for the main wedding and reception, which is heated. However, it does not hold up well in high wind. Another note is that this tent is very close to the main road where vehicles and large trucks drive by making the wedding experience feel a bit interrupted. Parking was adequate and close by. Overall, I would say it is a great venue for a small to medium wedding but not what I would suggest for an extravagant wedding. Positive: The food served was excellent. Even the appetizers were well thought with plenty to go around. Staff was friendly, professional, and courteous.

Greens are in great shape. The "pub" is also nice. The fairways are dormant and shaggy right now, which is expected for winter golf. It was a 5 1/2 round though, even with a marshall on the course. The pace of play here is usually slow but this was tough for a $75 winter round with extremely gusty winds. However, I booked through Golf Now and one of our foursome couldn't make it because he tested positive for COVID this morning. We told the pro shop approximately 2.5 hrs before the round he wouldn't make it and they said it was ok. When I was on hole 16 I got a notification that the pro shop informed Golf Now that someone was a no show and that I was being charged the $75. Seems kind of shitty to me and an act of bad faith. I won't be back.

The course lay out is OK. But, the drainage of the course has seriously something wrong and staffs do not have/ know how to handle in winter season. It was delayed today and seems like they don't have any plans what to do. And, there was rain about week ago and the course was so wet like rain yesterday. So, it was cart path only and didn't get the information because we start from back nine. Weather eas nice but, I don't think I will comeback again.
