Mountain Dell is a really fun course with absolutely sensational views—it’s one of the most scenic and conveniently located options near Salt Lake City. The layout offers variety and challenge, and the proximity to SLC makes it an easy choice when you want to sneak in a round. That said, this entire year the course has been plagued by painfully slow play. Rounds regularly stretch into 4.5–5.5 hours due to extreme bottlenecks, which takes a lot of the enjoyment out of the experience. Unfortunately, there’s no real pace-of-play monitoring: no rangers on the course and no enforcement, which makes the issue even more frustrating. If Mountain Dell can get pace of play under control, it would truly be a top-tier course for both locals and visitors. Until then, expect amazing scenery but bring your patience.

This course is awesome for views and we'll maintained. It is not for the novice golfer, however. Hood golfers will be challenged from Black and Blue tees. There are 3 sets of forward tees to provide some relief from long tee to fairway carries. Two courses here; played Lakes today. Excellent proshop staff.

Great courses! There are 2 full 18 hole courses here. The Lake course and the Canyon course. Both are well kept and fun to play.

Beautiful course with accommodating staff. We accidentally booked an PM instead of an AM session and they were still able to help despite our folly. The wildlife on the course was amazing as well.

Mountain Dell Golf Course, nestled in the scenic mountains just a short drive from Salt Lake City, offers a great golfing experience, especially if you’re playing the Canyons course. The natural beauty of the area definitely adds to the overall enjoyment of the game. The Canyons course itself is a lot of fun. It’s challenging enough to keep things interesting, with a variety of holes that test different aspects of your game, but it’s also forgiving in a way that allows you to relax and just enjoy the round. The course was in good condition when we played, with well-maintained fairways and greens that rolled true. It’s clear the staff takes pride in keeping the course up to par. One of the standout aspects of our round was the pace of play. It can be frustrating when a beautiful day of golf is marred by slow play, but that wasn’t the case here. We moved along at a steady, comfortable pace, allowing us to fully enjoy the experience without any unnecessary delays. Overall, Mountain Dell’s Canyons course offers a solid round of golf in a stunning setting. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, it’s definitely worth a tee time.
