First time playing The Golf Ranch and had a blast. One of the coolest, most beautiful public courses I've ever played. At $35 Probably the most value I've had playing golf. Much of the front 9 meanders through the woods as If it was meant to be there. Tons of tight fairways and elevation changes. The back 9 wanders around the lake and has some truly scenic holes. For the life of me I couldn't figure out what other reviewers were complaining about when they complained about cart paths, but now I know. That is to say I understand but their criticism is much over town if you ask me. We played after heavy rains and the course was really wet so we ran into some small issues but they really weren't that big of a deal. I feel there could've been more signs directing to tee boxes from prior greens but that's a rather small thing. Pace of play was wonderful on a weekday around 10 am and the staff was super nice. The course condition was rather good for so much water having been dumped on it recently. The only real complaint I had, and it is a rather odd one, but legitimate. On our approach shots into the 9th green there was a maintenance worker standing next to his work cart not a couple foot off the green directly behind the hole. I work at a golf course so I figured, Ok, he's doing work, not the first guy on a course we've seen working. But to be honest I didn't see him doing anything but standing there with his hand on his hip. He didn't move, wave us in, nothing. Well my wife was all shook up and worried about hitting into him so she just picked up. Which pissed me off that he would be so oblivious to players, that I promptly dropped one in the junk and picked up myself. No, I'm not blaming him for my bad swing but the more I thought of the inconsiderate attitude, the more it made me mad. I mentioned it to the clubhouse and the guy said "oh that's just so and so". Well frankly I don't care who he is, he could use a lesson in golf etiquette. We've all ran into mowers, workers etc but this was different. Matter of fact we ran into mowers later and they were extremely polite. This particular guy had no regard whatsoever for the customer, which was off-putting. Other than that one thing we enjoyed our time and will certainly be back to this beautiful course. I still can't believe that the course wasn't busier than it was and I'm looking forward to returning. Also, if it's your first time playing here, I'd take the proshops advice and play the white tees.

As a high handicap golfer, I found it to be the most challenging one I've ever played. You have to think on every hole as the terrain and layout are well designed. Even though it's 80 miles away from home, it's worth the drive! Cost is low for such a great course, too!

The course layout and lake views are incredible. The course is in decent shape (could be better), but this is one heck of a great value...and it's beautiful. Nice staff too

One of the most scenic courses in the state. Elevation changes and tree-lined fairways challenge every level of golfer. The greens were the best I have played on a public course in the region. Fair and fast. I can highly recommend The Golf Ranch. You will not find any more scenic views on any other course in the state.

Friendly staff and challenging course. The lack of cart paths makes for sort of a rough ride. Scenic views of Bringle Lake. No parallel holes, so when you're playing a hole, no interference from folks on adjacent holes. Prices are fair, especially on weekdays. Seems a good value on a challenging course.
