Would leave a 0/5 if I could. Paid $44 for a weekend afternoon tee time. Pro shop says “only holes 1-4 are a little rough” No.. the whole course was rough. Fairways weren’t even close to a fairway. It was a damn jungle. Not even mowed. Couldn’t find my ball anywhere. This is the absolutely worst condition of a course I’ve ever playe. Greens were basically sand. Fairways were like hitting out of the rough.

I played stone river this morning for around $50. The course was pretty much unplayable. The fairways were far from fair. The greens were pretty nice until I came across the green in the picture . I can’t believe that the pro shop charges that much without at least a warning. Will not return.

Some of the greens are good but every single fairway looks like the pictures I added i payed 85 for a round and it was not worth it to me at all the staff was great and prices on food and drinks were great that's the only reason I'd give it 2 stars

What an amazing place to play golf! The staff at the golf club, the owner, and the community are friendly and helpful. Stone River is my favorite golf course. It’s always a fun time.

This place is on a good tract of land. They really have the chance to create a great course. And the area this far east of Dallas could really benefit from a well kept course. But today was one of the worst experiences on a golf course Ive had. It rained a bit this morning so it was plenty wet as to be expected. But it wasn't busy and it took us more than 5 hours to play, and a good hour of that was spent just trying to find our golf balls THAT WERE IN THE FAIRWAY. The spring rains we have had are no excuse for not mowing the fairways and the length of grass on the fairways are totally unacceptable. Grass was as long 5 inches+ in many areas of the fairways and far longer in the rough and outside of the cart paths. I ran into another golfer while looking for a ball, and he was clearly a very skilled golfer, and he commented that he has only been playing trash balls all day because it was so difficult to find your ball (again) IN THE FAIRWAY. Though their greens have been recently punched, they are generally pretty decent, but they also are not cut well and are unbelievabley slow. We have played here a couple of times in the dead of summer in the past, and the place is as hard as asphalt. There were only two holes on the course that looked like proper golf holes and had at least appeared to have been cut within the last 7 days. It appears they have spent all of their money on golf carts and the weird koi fish pond with a waterfall awkwardly placed in the floor of the pro shop. Yes, you read that last part right.
