Forest Creek Golf Club is a special place. Every aspect of golf is included here. The course is challenging, but not overwhelming The staff welcomes you like an old golf buddy and the people who golf here are friendly. I met two guys who had paid memberships at another popular course, but drove a little further to play Forest Creek GC because they manage the number of golfers on the course much better here so the experience is much more enjoyable. Their practice facilities are my favorite. They have a dedicated pitching area from 30 yds out, an enormous undulating putting green which is so challenging that I can practice my putting for two hours and not get bored Their beautiful driving range is bordered by a thick forest. It is a public course so they use artificial turf mats. Out of all the courses in the North Austin area, I chose Forest Creek GC's Junior Academy as the place to begin my grandson's formal golf training. He loved the coaching staff and Coach Josh in particular. It is a lush green course during the spring time. During the hot summer months, it is my favorite place to golf during the twilight hours. I choose a day where it is 99° and falling at 5 pm. It is a peaceful place with a literal forest of trees to provide shade throughout the round. The pro shop is well supplied and the cafe is outstanding. The food is VERY good and there are lots of delicious options. I always eat there before or after putting practice and a round of golf.

The staff is friendly and the pace was good so I do feel bad for the review but I think the greens are in such a spot it doesn’t warrant the price tag. I understand we’ve had some rocky weather and coming out of dormant grass season, though it’s tough to justify the $115 when you’re not putting on grass. The front 9 had some fine holes but the back 9 was borderline unplayable in my opinion. The free soda and hot dog don’t make up for it. Hope this is just a weather issue and not a fungus on the greens. Ultimately demand will be there regardless though definitely would be hard pressed to come back unless fixed or acknowledged.

My original review is below: 5 stars for a public golf course! Pretty and still popular even in a drought. Update: it would be really nice if there were a PUBLIC POOL at this PUBLIC golf course... if ONLY the city didn't fill in the pool that was a community hangout spot at this location, with concrete!!! I recently learned that local governments fill in public swimming pools because people in these elected offices would rather take away the public swimming pool than see certain humans swimming with other certain humans! 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 Interesting! Update Update: I heard they have started constructing putting greens where the pool was. At least they're using the space for more golf!

The course is nice, but I had 8 lawn mowers and tractors accompanying me on literally 2/3's of the holes. I payed about $100 to play this course and got out early to play quickly. I've now been sitting at the 15th tee for 30 minutes as I refuse to play another hole surrounded by lawn equipment. It's absolutely ridiculous. Would not recommend this course.

Just started golfing recently and I went to one other course before this one. I’ve been coming back to this course for their driving range, and to play 18 at least once a week. Would recommend to anyone!
