Had to pay for four folks after two dropped out since they have a 24 hour policy. That’s right…$362 for two folks to play. Greens are rougher than you would expect being new. The GPS carts continue to mess up and lock up if it thinks you’re in a restricted area (we were on cart path next to tee box). As a local, thoughts of a membership vanished in a day. In response to the “reply”….I specifically asked the staff not to be paired with other folks since I was paying for 4 players. I was told inside the pro shop that would be the case and then outside I was told differently. I said I would be glad to play with others, but needed a refund since there was no issue filling the slots. I was told no. Flying L lost lots of money from me with so many others courses to play at significantly better prices that match the quality of course. You got the two extra rounds from me, but as a local hill country resident… you lost A LOT of future rounds from me. If you read others reviews, I’m not the only one who has experienced GPS cart issues.

Course is in excellent shape as of 5/22/25. Greens are really nice, some of the best I've seen recently around SA & Hill Country area. Friendly staff, decent little bar & grill, overall great value.

Flying L Ranch is nice but the golf course staff and golf carts are challenging. 1st day played the front nine and the greens are in bad shape as others pointed out. The cart on the 1st day screen kept shutting down so pretty much did not work. Used my phone. The next day, got a cart and played the back nine. Back nine is much nicer however the cart I got kept shutting down. I took pictures as it kept happening over and over. When I finished playing, I let the guy know and he said "you are off the cart path". Pictures clearly show the cart had 2 wheels still on the cart path. I had pulled over to side to play. Apparently GPS is way too sensitive. After 2 days of challenges, I'm not playing anymore this week. The staff is more about defending everything and not resolving anything. Locals I played with the first day said the same thing - they are not really accommodating because there is nothing closer. Advice for the manager - focus on what you can do to provide better experience rather than what you can't do.

My family and I went for the stay and play. It was a great experience because it was exactly what we were looking for. Shout out to Buck! He made the experience fun specially for everyone! (Wagon ride is very worth it!) Next day we hit the golf course and yes maybe 3, 4 greens are still recovering but it is not as bad as people make it seem. Or at least now as of recent. This course is beautiful, it is in great shape and It has very nice greens. The staff was super nice. My family and I love it. We will be back and I will bring all my group of golf buddies to play in this hidden gem!

Front 9 greens need healing yet, maybe 8,9 on stimp. Back 9 greens much better, 11 stimp probably. Greens not real big, most are elevated; didn't hold real well, run on shots work fine. Good condition for late March, layout of course is fun, some tough shots but tips st 6600 only 124 slope
