Prior to last week, I had not played Blackhawk for about a year. At that time the fairways were bad, cart paths were sketchy, and the greens were in very poor condition. As of last week every single area I described was markedly worse. I would have preferred the drought stricken grass in my yard over the "fairways". Frodo experienced fewer obstacles on his way to Mordor than my ball did on these greens. I really hope the course gets it together one of these days. What a shame. Two stars only because the staff working the check in and restaurant were very nice as well as the marshall.

Without question the worst gold course in Austin area. 3rd time playing here and the course is always in the worse condition imaginable! Staff are rude elderly men, that tear you as an inconvenience more than a customer. I waited at front desk for 10 minutes before he got up from the table in the grill watching sports center and came over to help me. Had an attitude that I wanted to play a round, when it was as dead as can be and clearly this course needs every dollar it can get. It was $43.50 after tax to ride 18. I paid $45 and was never offered my change, he just kept it. Being I was solo and the course was empty was able to play all 18 in about 3 hours. I had a meeting in another 2 hours so I asked to play another 9 beside just staying on course without attempting to pay, which I easily could have done. I was told they dont do discounted rate after you have played 18....and it was going to be $30 plus tax to play another 9! As crappy of a course this is, and it being dead as can be, clearly the smart thing to do is take the $10 i offered and go back to watching sportscenter. Don't waste you time and or money here. I CANT STRESS THIS ENOUGH, FIND ANOTHER COURSE! Hopefully either new ownership will take over here, or within a year it will be apartments! I wish I could give it a 0 star rating

I saw the other reviews and thought “how bad can it be”. It was worse. I should be given a refund for the $60 I spent on the green fees and then another $500 for the mental torture. The fairways were like concrete. The greens were completely unkept and were like ice. There was thick rough around some of the greens. The course was literally unplayable. You couldn’t get under the golf ball at all. It was extremely muddy in a lot of areas too. Trust me, don’t do it.

Im not saying its the worst golf course in the world but they better hope the worst golf course in the world doesn’t shut down. If this is the other side the “grass” (if your lucky enough to find any) is definitely not greener over here it in fact is yellow, the fairways are so dry and patchy they resemble dried mud pits from ancient times, the ground is cracked as seen in the photos bellow. These holes (in this case) (not including the other 20 locations they appear on this course) where about 10 yards from the green this could be very problematic considering they can easily swallow a golf ball (it fit more than half of my pitching wedge easily). Going to the tenth hole the cart path just ends no signs or anything just a trail forged by those brave enough to come before you the cart path then comes back like it never left only to end again, the alternate trail used felt less like a golf course and more like a premier off roading experience. Pace of play was definitely an issue as well on the front 9 there where 4 tee times not quite sure what the exact times where but there was a group of 2 followed by a single followed by myself followed by a group of 5 by the 8th hole I had caught up to the single by the 9th hole the group of 5 had caught up to us as we all sat there in our carts for at least 5 minutes before the original duo even teed off. When I arrived the pro shop guy was no where to be found (took me almost 10 minutes to check in 9 of those waiting on him) he then proceeded to be rude. I will say definitely the only highlight of this course had to be the lady at the grill she was super nice and the burger was amazing. Unfortunately the negative heavily outweighs the positive grill lady wasn’t able to earn this place another star but she gets an A for effort.

If you need a course to play just for heck of it I still wouldn’t recommend this course. Staff hated their jobs, dude walked up to me at the grill and said “what do you want”… then the course. Do they even have a maintenance crew?? Holy hell the greens were so bad I would have gotten better putting practice at top golf. For $60 I should have downloaded a golf app and played on my phone.
