Early Tee time, on a Monday. Range balls included, so I stopped there for a quick warm-up. Solo player, so it was a fairly quick round. Fairways were nice, and greens were very well kept. Lots of undulation, so keep everything under control, and you can score pretty well. It was a dewy morning, but overall, it was a great course. Stopped in for the included lunch after the round (when you book through Houston National, not golfnow), including chips and a beer, if that's your fancy. Well worth the price of the round, all things considered.

Decent course but not really worth the price. Greens were decent but the fairway and roughs were grown up and not in a fun, purposeful way which may have been due to the recent rain storms but still could have been mowed down. Pace of play was about 4.5 hours. Have played a lot of Houston area golf and this course feels like it needs some work compared to some of the other courses in the area at this price range. The burger and beer that came with the round were great. The private course side looks very nice. I feel like 3 stars is a very reasonable score for the Houston National course.

Played the public side, and after 25 years of golf it’s one of the worst course conditions I’ve ever encountered. This isn’t just seasonal, this is a lack of maintenance for YEARS. The fairways are rutted out and full of dirt patches, the fringes of the greens have clumps of weeds in your way, the greens themselves have dirt patches, etc. The grass is just in awful condition. Some greens on the back 9 are nice, as if they haven’t gotten around to renovating the others. But other than that it’s all very very bad. There should be some kind of disclaimer the conditions are so bad. On top of that, the course is lacking proper signage showing where the next tee box is, and had no water jugs out on a hot day. To charge over $80 for this is a sin. This course is worth $50 MAX. The free lunch, which was a pretty gross buffet of burgers and dogs, does not make up for it. Do not waste your money or time here. It’s a shame, because it seems like it was a nice course when it was built. But they have let it go to the weeds.

Nice course in good condition. People are friendly and pace of play is not really a problem most of the time. I like the course, but the last four tines I have played their the range has been closed unexpectly. Of course we never know that until we get there, so there's virtually no opportunity to warm up and prepare for the round.

Solid course for the price. Range balls, lunch and a beer was included. They just got some new carts that are super comfy and come with touch screens showing hole overview and GPS showing distance to fairways, green and/or hazards. They also have wireless phone charging. Greens were in good shape and the few times I actually played from the fairway they were well taken care of given the difficult Houston summer conditions. Sand in carts for divots. Will definitely be back soon.
