Game-Changing Lesson – Carlos Espinosa is the Real Deal Most of my golf game has been in decent shape for a while—I consistently shoot in the high 70s to low 80s. But the weakest part has always been around the green, especially chipping. I’d never been formally taught the proper mechanics or strategy, so my short game was always a bit of a guessing game. That all changed last week. Now that I’ve got a dedicated practice area in my backyard (huge thanks to EZ Scapes of McAllen for that!), I figured it was time to finally address my biggest weakness. But before grinding it out with bad habits, I wanted a professional lesson to make sure I was practicing the right things. After researching who the go-to coach was in the area, one name kept coming up: Carlos Espinosa at Champion Lakes Golf Lessons. And now I know why. Within the first 5 minutes of working with me, Carlos completely transformed my chipping technique. We spent a focused hour just on chipping—which is exactly what I wanted—and I walked away with clear, repeatable fundamentals I could take straight to my backyard. What’s even more impressive? The results transferred to the course immediately. I played the following weekend and shot the best front 9 of my life—1 over par, and that was on aerated greens. Then the rain hit. Buckets of it. But I wasn’t about to walk away from a round that started like that. I pushed through the storm and still shot a 77. On soaked, aerated greens. That’s how much impact this one lesson had. Carlos has a rare combination of patience, deep knowledge of the game, a calm demeanor, and an ability to quickly diagnose and fix swing flaws. If you’re looking to elevate your game—at any level—Carlos is your guy. I’m beyond excited to keep working on this part of my game and see how much better I can get from here. Five stars. Highly recommended.

Recently got into Golf, definitely one of the nicest courses in the valley. The greens are taking care of, and they also have a lot of family and couple specials in the afternoon. Definitely will always be my go to first choice for Golf in the valley.

I loved this place! It was my first time going and I was really happy with my experience. It has great prices for practice balls. We only go to practice on the mats since we’re new at golf but I can’t wait to try the course. We went at sunset and there was quite a lot of people on the mats. We had to wait for a mat to free up but not too long. If you go at night, make sure you wear mosquito repellent because they will be all over you once it gets dark.
