Management at this business is deeply flawed. Employees and even paying members are often treated poorly. Ramona, in particular, micromanages to an extreme degree and deflects responsibility when mistakes occur, frequently blaming others rather than accepting accountability. Several employees and managers have left under her leadership. One concerning incident involved a weekend stretch where the kitchen was kept open without hot water, despite clear food safety standards. Text messages show Ramona and another manager agreeing to keep the kitchen running during that time, even after the chef told them it was against food safety standards. After an inspector was called, the issue was corrected before the inspector arrived on Monday, and only Ramona spoke with them, and they did not investigate further. Members were reportedly told that hot water was only an issue in the bathrooms, not the kitchen, which contradicts internal communications and food safety protocols. A professionally trained chef was recently employed and transformed the kitchen into a true scratch kitchen, improving food quality significantly. There is concern that this progress may be reversed in favor of cutting food costs, sacrificing quality and value for paying members. HR, when notified of concerns or being in the room when they occurred, has not appeared to take any meaningful corrective action, even when labor law violations were reported internally, or heard firsthand. To be clear, all claims made here are backed by text messages, witnesses, and recordings (as Texas is a one-party consent state). This review is not defamatory—it is a factual account of events and workplace culture. I believe both employees and paying members deserve transparency about what’s happening behind the scenes.

Great staff. We got reassigned to move away from Lubbock mid way through our contract. Ramona was so resourceful in helping us break our contract early since we would not be able to use the membership. Zach is so welcoming every time you come in to the bar/restaurant.

I’ve had a great experience at this country club! The atmosphere is always welcoming, and the service is exceptional. A big shoutout to the bar staff — they go above and beyond every time. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great place to relax, golf, and enjoy good company.”

LakeRidge Golf Club – Home of the not-so-greats! Can’t hit a straight drive? Perfect. You’ll fit right in with the rest of them. Slice into the street? Happens all the time. Hit a car? Just wave! Accountability? What’s that? At LakeRidge, damaging property is just another part of the game — and don’t worry, management’s got your back… by ignoring it completely.

Accountability, responsibility, and character—all lacking from the Lake Ridge Country Club in Lubbock. If your car is hit by a ball from the tees/fairway on Slide, do not expect much help or a fair resolution to the very expensive damage done to your car. They said they were not able to compel their member to do the right thing even though guilt was admitted by the member’s guest when confronted on the course by the Pro. Surprisingly—a wreck didn’t happen from the sudden slamming of brakes and swerving after being hit. Hmmmmm—if someone had been injured would the lack of a reasonable response still apply?
