We went there for the first time this past Saturday and we loved it. We were just using putters so we stayed out of the way from the other players. The staff was awesome, had a good conversation with Scott.

We witnessed the same abusive behavior from the course marshal following golfers around harassing and humiliating them working really hard to be sure they knew they were not welcome here at the Hancock golf course in Lampasas. City leaders should be ashamed of this behavior and call the Golf Course Manager on the carpet. This very negative behavior has been reported by others so he must certainly be aware but doing nothing about it.

This course is a real treat. Well kept. Greens roll amazing. Sure it is short and the greens are small (good practice), but you can REALLY tell that the crew cares. In great shape. Great walk. Loved every minute of it. Will be back again. Thank you to everyone there!

The actual golf course was great. I knew it was a short course before I came so I expected that but was not prepared for how short. You don't need a long game here but you do need an accurate game, soooo many trees. Back 9 greens are tiny and did I mention soooo many trees? Things I will remember for next time... They have no water on the course. They had no water in the pro shop. I'll make sure to bring my own drinks. There are some vending machines but they were mostly empty. Pro shop had lots of merchandise just nothing but Gatorade and tea to drink.

If I could give this place zero stars I would but I cannot in order to leave a review. To start, the group that was behind us asked the Course Marshal to tell us “if you’re going to play this slow it’s common courtesy to let the next group play through.” Yes, this is obvious. Anyone who plays golf knows this. We were spending less than 15 minutes per hole with a group of four. The guys behind us did not ask to play through and they were never close enough to us so that we could even offer. Seeing as how this took place, we skipped a hole to avoid any conflict. Said “yes, sir” and kept it moving. Next, the Course Marshal told us that if we went off the cart path again he would ask us to leave and proceeded to say if we didn’t leave when he told us to he would “call the police.” Please keep in mind that we didn’t leave the cart path. We had to turn around so of course you’re on the very edge of the grass for a split second to make that turn. Lastly, the part that made me the most uncomfortable, the Course Marshal basically followed us around the course for remaining 15 holes. He watched everyone one of us tee off. When we moved forward to play the ball, so did he. He stopped and watched every move that we made. We were the only minority group that was on the golf course so I guess that just implied that we should we followed. Three of us are Active Duty and the other player is a Disabled Veteran. I have never experienced this type of behavior at a golf course before and it was very unprofessional. We will not be going back.
