Course is Great, Lodging Needs Major Work The Pines Golf Course itself is really enjoyable—well maintained, fun to play, and in great shape. The layout is easy to navigate with a scorecard, even though signage is minimal. Still, some signage would help enhance the experience. One recommendation: it would be nice if the golf shop staff gave a quick orientation. I had to ask where the chipping green, putting green, range, and first tee were. That said, all the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our visit, which made a great impression. Now, the accommodations are a very different story. While I understand there are newer, higher-end lodging options, the more affordable lodging seems to be on the complete opposite end of the spectrum—and not in a charming, rustic way. We stayed in what appeared to be older apartment-style units that clearly haven’t been properly maintained. There were visible stains on the ceiling and walls, mismatched patchwork repairs, and all full-sized appliances had been removed. In their place? A lone mini fridge. If you’re going to offer a more budget-conscious option, it should still hit a basic standard of comfort and functionality—think along the lines of a Candlewood Suites: clean, well-kept, and equipped with essentials like a real fridge, stove, and oven. Instead, these felt more like temporary housing than guest accommodations. For what we paid—$323 per night for four people (roughly $80/person)—the value just wasn’t there. Given the condition and lack of amenities, something closer to $200/night would be more appropriate. Bottom line: we loved the golf and truly appreciated the staff, but the lodging fell well below expectations and held the overall experience back. As much as we enjoyed the course, we’d only consider returning if the older accommodations were fully renovated—inside and out, including appliances—or if new, mid-tier lodging options were added. Also worth noting: while the property bills itself as a golf resort, the overall experience feels much more like a golf course with on-site lodging. The golf is great—but if you’re expecting a full-fledged resort atmosphere with quality accommodations and amenities, you may want to temper those expectations. Pine Dunes is a beautiful golf course. The fairways, greens and overall course what in great shape. My suggestion would be put more signage around the course to guid players better. Customers service was great. I’d rate this course in top 40 course around the country.

Cool course. Nice to be secluded amongst the trees. Beware of the 2 bedroom condos and bring your whole kitchen because the amenities were non-existent. I was happy that it was fairly clean and the A/C worked. Make all your plans around golf because you will want to spend as minimum time as possible in the lodge unless you splurge for the double eagle. Breakfast was missing one morning at the restaurant which was supposed to be included.

Course was in good shape. No cart paths, except by greens and tees, so makes it a little weird trying to navigate the course. Only 1 rundown bathroom on course. Course has a good layout and is not for beginners. Sand traps could have more sand in them. Cost for a Sat round was $152 with tax

Not a bad course it does need some work. The greens was fast which is awesome the maintenance was decent (they was working on improving it) and the main thing is the cart path do need a lot of work. The pro shop was decent it was more on the basic side. The bar and grill area was decent size a bit dated in that area. The cart girl was great she made good drinks and a good outfit.
