I used to enjoy playing Riverchase Golf Club a few years ago—it was a decent course at a fair price. Unfortunately, something has changed drastically, and the course is now in terrible condition. The fairways were overgrown to the point where they looked and felt like rough at most other courses. The greens were in equally poor shape—patchy, slow, and sandy, making them nearly unplayable. Dry spots and what I can only describe as “sand canyons” ran across several greens, making putting an exercise in frustration. It’s clear that basic maintenance hasn’t been done in quite some time. What really pushed this experience over the edge was the overall neglect. A decaying possum or raccoon carcass was sitting on the No. 8 tee box, surrounded by flies and emitting a horrible stench. Judging by its condition, it had clearly been there for days, if not weeks. We tried calling the clubhouse to report it, but sat on hold with a dial tone for 15 minutes before the call disconnected. Then, on hole 13, our cart ran out of gas. Instead of an apology, the first thing the attendant said was that we “must’ve driven through a puddle,” only to later realize it had simply run out of gas due to their oversight. The lack of accountability and professionalism was disappointing. I don’t golf as often as I’d like, and I was looking forward to a solid Father’s Day weekend round. Instead, I left extremely disappointed. At $70, this round was absolutely not worth the price. I typically try to give courses the benefit of the doubt, but Riverchase has clearly fallen off and I won’t be returning anytime soon.

Decent clubhouse. Greens weren’t bad. The rest of the course was in horrible shape. Crappy cart paths. Very slow play. Not worth $55 a person!

The course has wide open fairways, which is nice, but the tee boxes are not level for most of the course which makes it frustrating to hit off of and the greens in the front nine were in horrible shape, and the green’s overall were not great, but at least the back were a little bit better. It’s a great price at $40 for a weekday, but the course needs an overhaul.

Very disappointed. Drove a hour to get to this course i haven't played in years. It was always such a nice challenging course in great shape. Im frustrated I paid for this... The grass on the tee boxes are taller that the freaking rough. The greens that used to be so sweet haven't been cut in weeks it looks like. Its like putting on a snag carpet... Not cool guys, not cool at all. Cut the dang grass

I want to preface this with saying I’ve never written a bad review in my life. But I’m trying to save yall the money and frustration before coming here. I use to play this course years ago and never the best course but a good course for the money. Came back probably 5 years later and it’s become a dog track. First bad experience was putting my bag on the cart and the strap was covered in black tar residue. Got all over my hands and bag and didn’t come off without a good scrub. Cart paths have massive pot holes on nearly every hole and unless your dead center, your ball will be hitting rocks and going OB. Don’t even get me started on the tee boxes.
