Great place for weekend golf. Course is wide open so you don’t lose a lot of balls. Wide fairways that are well kept along with smooth rolling greens that are taken care of.

The front desk staff are not the friendliest or most helpful. Was in town for a conference and got an afternoon tee time and unfortunately this is the first experience the customer gets of the course. There was no direction on where anything was. I paid through a 3rd party app and was expecting a receipt and where the first hole was. Unfortunately I was just told ok I got you and she moved onto the next person. This course is pretty wide open with minimal trees so balls are flying all over from other holes. Hole 10 runs along the driving range, so good luck. I would not play this course again.

Save Yourself the Trip — This Course Isn’t Worth the Drive I’m not in the habit of writing bad reviews, but this experience deserves a warning for fellow golfers. My husband and I golf (well, he golfs — I ride along due to a shoulder injury) 2–3 times a month. We decided to make the drive to College Station to try this course after checking their website and booking a tee time. When we arrived, we were met by two starters — one pleasant, the other a bitter, crabby man who seemed personally offended that I was in the cart without clubs. Apparently, “riding along” requires special permission and an extra fee — something nowhere on their website. He informed me I’d need to pay $20 on top of the “cart fee” already included in the posted rates. If that’s your policy, fine — but be transparent and post it online so people can make an informed choice before driving out. Rather than simply explaining the rule, the starter chose to be condescending, argumentative, and unnecessarily rude — treating me as though I was trying to sneak in without paying. At the front desk, the same energy continued. When I pointed out the lack of clarity on the website, the staffer rolled her eyes instead of listening — a customer service choice as dead as the grass on their greens. Speaking of which — the course itself? A sad mix of brown patches and crunchy turf that’s nowhere near “green.” If you’re going to nickel-and-dime guests for riding in a cart, maybe invest that extra $20 into course maintenance and staff training. As a PR manager for a major radio station in the region, I can assure you this course will be on our “do not book” list for client outings, and I’ll be sharing my experience with every golfer I know. Based on other reviews, management is aware of these issues but chooses not to fix them. We won’t be back — and I suggest you don’t go in the first place.

The golf course is very nice and very challenging. Staff were friendly and helpful. The governors on the carts restrict access to much more of the playing area than is really necessary. The rough is impossible to play, unkept, and slows play. Only play here if you can hit every fairway and green.

This major university course could be, and SHOULD BE, so much better. It’s an interesting piece of land with lots of potential and nice views of Kyle Field and the TAMU campus, but the condition of the course is marginal. There are lots of brown patches in the fairways, the grass on several greens was going bad, the driving range landing area is an embarrassing dust patch, and the clubhouse is ready for a full reset. It’s a poor value for $70. I really wanted to like the course, both my daughters lived in the dorms next to it so I’ve been excited to try it, but I don’t think I’ll be back until I see some major improvements when I drive by. On the positive side the greens rolled beautifully, and there’s a spacious short game practice area (the short game is key to scoring people). The rough is downright diabolical, far too tough for the vast majority of golfers in my opinion. I do not recommend the course for a high handicapper, you’ll lose sleeves of balls in the deep lettuce.
