#1 Public course I can recommend. I don’t play the same course twice 98% of the time because I like to see them all. Not many places I haven’t played in North or South Central Texas. Vaaler is just special. If you like championship style golf courses where you don’t have to worry about pace of play, while also only being able to see one hole at a time - this is a great spot to check out. Price wise it’s on the higher end but the course makes it worth it. Perfect course maintenance, modern carts, a friendly starter, and overall beautiful hill country background. Have fun with the beach-sized bunkers and monster play from the tips. Have to recommend 18 here if you have the chance.

A really nice course. It has some very unique features and some of the greens are almost “too” undulating to a point where it’s putt-putt golf. But aside from those and if you put your ball on the right tier you can still score good. My buddy shot a 79 on his first round here. We won’t talk about my score. Lol. They have an excellent active duty/military retiree rate, too! PS I don’t know how the houses in this course have any windows. They are at EXACTLY the worst locations almost like they are daring you to hit them. Once you play here, you’ll see what I mean.

Maybe the best Hill Country Golf Course in Texas! Bring your fishing rod for after your round … great Mountain View’s course is in excellent shape. Full restaurant, pool, and stay n play too. A must play .., book tee times early

Course layout is quite odd. Homes often too near to holes, fairways often too small for average golfers. To improve pace of play, #2 and #18 should be redesigned and 1/3 of the greens should be rebuilt/regraded. I played it with skilled players 2-12 handicap. We didn’t feel like the course was a fair test of golf.

A wonderful golf experience! Not only are you welcomed by courteous staff to start your round, but you get to enjoy the beautiful scenery. The reason for the four stars instead of five is because of the slow pace of the course due to being very busy and the tee boxes are not visually color coded. It was difficult to know which tee box was white or blue. The nice gentleman gave us a tip and indicated they are arranged in red, white, and blue order (clever). Additionally, the young lady at the shack (where you can buy drinks and snacks) was not very welcoming. She made me feel as though I was bothering her when I asked about chips. The golf carts have a GPS screen to help with each hole, so no need to bring your gadgets. Not only that, the carts are comfortable and well kept. Biggest pet-peeve is to pay out the nose for a round only to sit in raggedy cart. This course involves strategy at many of the holes. No crazy golfing here, it's all about being smart. Ladies, this is one course where the word "advantage" is for real. The front and back create a figure eight and there is adequate signage for first-timers like myself. A young lady comes around the course to see if your drinks and snacks need to be refilled, she us very personable and super nice! Love giving tips to nice people. We didn't get to finish our round (had five more to go) since it was so slow and started getting dark. We will try again on another day and hopefully have better luck. Overall you'll enjoy this course.
