Oakhurst Golf Course This was not my first time playing here, but it will absolutely be my last. The course was in poor condition across the board. Fairways were holding standing water to the point that we had to move our ball multiple times during play. The greens were in such bad shape that putts didn’t roll — they bounced their way toward the hole. You can’t read greens like that; you just hope. What truly ruined the experience, though, was the course marshal. We were part of a 6-team scramble, fully aware of pace expectations. Despite that, the marshal started harassing our group as early as hole 2, repeatedly pestering us about pace of play. This was completely unjustified. We were well within the posted pace (15 minutes per hole) and were waiting on the group in front of us most of the round. Here’s the part that makes the harassment indefensible: When we finished on hole 18, there was no one behind us. Not one group. We held our group review and awards between the 18th hole and the clubhouse for about 15 minutes, and not a single group ever showed up behind us during that entire time. Clearly, pace of play was never an issue. This marshal’s behavior wasn’t about pace — it was about attitude. He was rude, condescending, and treated paying customers like children. Unfortunately, this is not new. A quick look at Google reviews shows a long pattern of complaints about this same marshal, and just as consistently, ownership responds by defending him instead of fixing the problem. The owner’s stock response always quotes the rules: Warning Pick up ball and move to next hole Removal from course Quoting rules does not excuse harassment, poor judgment, or disrespect, especially when groups are not out of position and the course is clearly not backed up. To make matters worse, our group alone spent nearly $2,000 that day. For the high price charged here, the combination of bad course conditions and hostile customer service is unacceptable. There are far better courses in the area that understand how to manage pace professionally and treat customers with respect. Until ownership stops defending bad behavior and starts addressing it, I strongly recommend taking your money elsewhere.

12/25/25. I don't know anything about this course yet. I have read some not so good comments and some good comments. I will keep in mind what I read in the comments (good/bad) and I will make my own unbiased opinion and edit this comment. 12/26/25. The staff gave it another star. Ok so, I have played here before (I have memory issues) and it was the same as now, 3-4 stars. I don't remember if the chipping green and driving range was the same though. Myself and nephew played there and I don't know what's up with the bad reviews about this course. Some people will always complain about something. Every person has different standards. If you are used to playing in a casino course or better then don't golf anywhere else but there. Myself as long as the fairways and greens are good the course is good. Yes there were some bad spots on a couple of greens but not that big a deal 🤷🥂🏌🏼 Yes, this course could be better sure; but, the same could be said about even the most expensive course. If this course had bad fairways or greens I would probably complain about it myself.

I’m replying back to the owner since you can’t respond back to him. Yes, we showed up with just a twosome. The other two, which is a couple, had a family emergency that led into the early morning causing them not to show up. Yes, i was willing to pay for the other two with wallet in my pocket. You unfortunately didn’t give me that option, being you said immediately “well, I’m not letting yall play”. I then said “even if i pay for the other two” you said no cause there isn’t a twosome to group with us. With your rude and grouchy response of course I’m not going to give you money to play there. You were worried about losing $120 when you ended up losing $240 having us not play. We hit range balls and everything by that point and was ready to play. I’ve spent thousands of dollars on balls, clubs, a bag, and green fees to play at this place and you wanted to be an ass so therefore you will now lose thousands of dollars with my group not playing at any of your courses. Would be ashamed if you got blasted on Facebook for being rude to customers. Cause in another comment you wanted to make it seem like nobody has said anything bad about this course when you can go down the reviews and see people complaining about you and the course. Facts are facts and they’re in plain site.

We played the Annual IAH tournament with the JE Dunn group today. The course was great. Very well organized and clean.

Booked at tee time for 4. The other two are a couple that had a family issue pop off and couldn’t show. The two that showed up got told we couldn’t play due to only having a twosome. Was told it’s for the pace of play when we wouldn’t have affected it what so ever. Was also willing to pay for the other 2 people so we could play. Owner is a disrespectful human that don’t care for anyone but himself and will come comment on reviews telling you you’re a hater. His other golf courses are way better due to him never being at them
