I'd love to give this a better review because the course is genuinely fun to play. But when they charge $70 for a round on a weekend with uneven tee boxes & very patchy greens it's a bit difficult. Very unfortunate because the staff are lovely! The course just needs to be maintained to a higher standard to charge those prices.

My family and I came here, and I really should’ve listened to the other reviews. I wanted to experience it for myself before judging, but unfortunately, they were RIGHT. The course is in TERRIBLE condition—divots, weeds, missing patches of grass, and the “greens” are basically concrete. There were holes everywhere, bumpy fairways, and trash ALL over the course, including empty glass beer bottles. There’s also ZERO shade, no restrooms, and not a cart girl to be found anywhere. On top of that, the holes are scattered everywhere, making it feel like a maze. I spent more time driving around trying to figure out where the next hole was and searching for balls than actually golfing. For the condition of this place, it’s honestly ridiculous even charging a penny to golf at this place. I truly don’t understand how this place stays open or why people continue giving them business. Save your money and go somewhere else. NOT worth it.

Whoever owns this course should be embarrassed. I really thought all of these reviews were exaggerating, it is basically unplayable, especially the greens. They clearly have made no effort to maintain the course in a long time, someone needs to buy it and shut it down for a year to re-do everything. The $64 weekend rate is a straight up robbery. Makes the other cheap courses in Houston feel like Augusta. For sure will not be back.

I was extremely disappointed with Southwyck. Charging $78 for a round with greens in this condition is ridiculous. The greens were honestly some of the worst I’ve ever paid to play on. At almost $80 a round, you expect the course—especially the greens—to be maintained at a much higher level. On top of that, they wouldn’t let me buy a beer before 12 unless I also bought food. After already paying $78 for a disappointing round, being told I had to spend even more money on food just to buy a beer made the experience even worse. There are way too many golf courses around Houston offering better conditions and a better overall experience for the money. Save your $78 and play somewhere else. Southwyck needs to seriously improve its greens before charging these prices. I won’t be back anytime soon.

I really want to give this place a better review because the people that work here are super nice and the course layout is unique, however for $70 this course is IMMENSELY overpriced. Every green looked like the attached photo and the fairways are like driving over hundreds of speed bumps. Someone could make a lot of money off this golf course if they came in and re-sodded the fairways and fixed the deadspots on the greens but until then this is an absolute LAST RESORT place to play. Course has potential but they are doing nothing to better it.
