I used to enjoy playing Riverchase Golf Club a few years ago—it was a decent course at a fair price. Unfortunately, something has changed drastically, and the course is now in terrible condition. The fairways were overgrown to the point where they looked and felt like rough at most other courses. The greens were in equally poor shape—patchy, slow, and sandy, making them nearly unplayable. Dry spots and what I can only describe as “sand canyons” ran across several greens, making putting an exercise in frustration. It’s clear that basic maintenance hasn’t been done in quite some time. What really pushed this experience over the edge was the overall neglect. A decaying possum or raccoon carcass was sitting on the No. 8 tee box, surrounded by flies and emitting a horrible stench. Judging by its condition, it had clearly been there for days, if not weeks. We tried calling the clubhouse to report it, but sat on hold with a dial tone for 15 minutes before the call disconnected. Then, on hole 13, our cart ran out of gas. Instead of an apology, the first thing the attendant said was that we “must’ve driven through a puddle,” only to later realize it had simply run out of gas due to their oversight. The lack of accountability and professionalism was disappointing. I don’t golf as often as I’d like, and I was looking forward to a solid Father’s Day weekend round. Instead, I left extremely disappointed. At $70, this round was absolutely not worth the price. I typically try to give courses the benefit of the doubt, but Riverchase has clearly fallen off and I won’t be returning anytime soon.

The course has wide open fairways, which is nice, but the tee boxes are not level for most of the course which makes it frustrating to hit off of and the greens in the front nine were in horrible shape, and the green’s overall were not great, but at least the back were a little bit better. It’s a great price at $40 for a weekday, but the course needs an overhaul.

Used to love this course but it’s obvious the ownership is letting it go and letting it go fast. This was in the middle of every fairway and some tee boxes. Absolutely not worth $50

Riverchase Golf Club is kind of a mixed bag for me, so three stars feels about right. The course has a nice layout and you can tell it probably used to be really great. There are some fun holes and a few spots that are genuinely enjoyable to play, especially if you’re just out trying to have a relaxed round and not take things too seriously. That said, the condition of the course is hit or miss. Some fairways and greens were fine, but others were rough and clearly need some attention. A few tee boxes were pretty beat up, and the greens didn’t roll very consistently, which can be frustrating if you’re trying to play a decent round. It wasn’t unplayable, just inconsistent. The pace of play was ok but could be better. There were a couple backups, and it felt like things moved slower than necessary at times. Staff were friendly enough, but nothing really stood out in terms of service. The clubhouse is basic and gets the job done, but don’t expect anything fancy. Overall, Riverchase Golf Club is fine if you’re looking for a casual, affordable place to play and don’t mind some rough spots. It’s not terrible, but it’s also not a course I’d go out of my way to play again unless improvements are made.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but Riverchase Golf Club was such a disappointing experience that it absolutely deserves to be called out. Honestly, giving it one star feels generous. The “greens” are in terrible condition - muddy, patchy, and visibly unmaintained. Nearly every hole had standing water or mud, and the old gas carts (lawnmowers) were slow, loud, and bumpy. For $60, you’d think basic amenities like a cooler would be available at the bare minimum, but nope. I understand the idea of “you get what you pay for,” but this wasn’t that. This felt like price gouging for an experience the management clearly isn’t reinvesting in - charging players that much for zero enjoyment and no visible effort toward maintenance is unacceptable. To put it simply, $30 for this course is even outrageous… by far the worst golf experience we’ve had. I won’t be back, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone…..
