Description

Sweetens Cove is a golf experience unlike any other in Tennessee—creative, minimalist, and utterly captivating. The nine-hole design by Rob Collins and Tad King features bold contours, sprawling fairways, and wildly imaginative greens. Every hole offers multiple ways to play, inviting creativity and joy over scorekeeping. It's a course that celebrates the spirit of the game itself. Revered by purists and newcomers alike, Sweetens Cove is a modern classic.

Save your money. Never been to a golf course where you had to hear a history lesson that took an hour and a half before you got to tee off. I used to play this course for $40 before Peyton and his staff bought this place. Used to be maintained with pride. The course was in terrible condition. Do us golf hackers a favor Peyton....don't buy anymore golf courses. I told my friends about this course and it took 2 years to get on it and play. I felt like I needed to pay them back the $100 they each paid for this terrible experience.

This course is awesome. Greens are massive and very undulating. Layout is beautiful! Laid back atmosphere. Only negative, they allowed a group of 7 and a group of 8 to play together. These groups backed the course up. I was not a huge fan of that.

This place is about so much more than golf. It’s a 9 hole loop where you pay one fee for the whole day. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming from the start. I drove up and already felt like I was about to hang out with my best friends even though I was a single showing up for the first time with no idea what to expect. I ended up tagging along with the best group of guys and we played a two team scramble. It was legitimately the most fun I’ve had playing a day of golf. It’s a completely different vibe that can only be experienced on site. I’m glad they got their agronomy repaired and to hear they are expanding. This place has something special that you can’t quite describe but makes you think about it randomly after you leave. I plan to take a few of the golfers in my family up there as soon as possible!

Probably the most unique and pleasant golf experience I've had east of the Mississippi River. This place is about one thing - great golf with your friends. Literally nothing else. No cart girl, no food, no fluff. They do however have a "shed" with some of the best merch you'll ever find at a public golf course. You could tell no stone was left unturned during the design and construction of this course. The course might look straight forward and simple at first but it's the furthest thing from that. The greens are extremely difficult especially depending on pin placements. 2 pins in each green to keep things interesting for you group match. This is designed to be a matchplay course unless you're scratch golfer, it'll humble you quickly. With the purchase of a day pass you'll find yourself not wanting to leave until it's completely dark. On the day we went there was maybe 30 people on the course. Just an excellent day all around and highly recommend a visit.

This is not your typical course and will not be your typical experience. If you see it as you see your country club, you are looking at it wrong. This is a place to be free and have fun. A group of 8 in front of you? Who cares, skip the hole and go to the next. You are there all day, you’ll eventually play the hole you skipped. We played 63 holes and enjoyed the challenge of each one. Started with a straight up 18 holes of stroke play. Switched to 9 holes of scramble. Then 9 holes of red tee straight up. Followed by 9 holes of white tee then back to 18 of red tees. We kept score on most, but as Matt says “no one cares what you shoot.” Just have fun.
