Description

Twelve Stones offers a strong, strategic layout just north of Nashville, featuring generous landing areas and dynamic elevation changes. Water comes into play on several memorable holes, testing decision-making under pressure. The greens are large, true, and beautifully contoured. It's a well-balanced course that rewards every part of the game. Championship-quality golf wrapped in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

This course is amazing! Such a beautiful course with amazing views, challenging layout, and really cool elevation changes. They are obviously working on the tee boxes and there were some rough areas in a couple fairways that apparently got messed up from sledding in the winter. Not a big deal at all. This is now one of my favorite courses and I’ve played hundreds. Twilight rate was pretty good and staff was great

Course layout was great, some good views and good hole designs. But I’ll let my pictures of the greens and tee boxes explain my one star rating on this $72 round of golf.

A couple days ago I stopped by to check the course out. Curt, the Pro, was forthright and transparent about some challenges they've had with some of the greens. I appreciate candid ownership on matters such as these. The course has Tiff Eagle greens. He gave me a cart and let me ride around and check the place out. The front nine had some greens that were in rough shape, but they weren't unplayable. Rather, they had some problem spots. Overall, the most negatively affected greens on the front might have had ~10% of trouble in selected areas. I booked a tee time today and played 9 holes before my afternoon meetings. If you're amid to high handicapper, do yourself a favor and move up on the tee boxes. This is a wonderful golf course, with a lot of elevation changes. I'm about an eight handicap, and I shot a 39 on the front nine first time I've ever played. I shot this number because even with the greens being problematic in some areas, they roll true. I saw the cart girl come around three times and nine holes. They should consider adding other options such as High Noon, White Claw, etc. I don't drink beer. The starter was slightly intense but who could blame him on a September Friday? Course flow was great and the fairways are great. I agree with the assessment that some of the tee boxes are in rough shape. But to be honest, I don't give a shit because I'm putting my ball on a tee anyway. I mentioned the elevation changes, and I also have to mention that some tee boxes are far from the greens you just came off of. Don't try to walk it. This course does not have a restaurant that's part of the course. They do have a restaurant at that location and it's run separately. I noticed that they had a really good salad bar and they've got a pretty good menu. Plenty of seating big t vs to watch golf and nice staff are all there to make you feel good about yourself, even if you've had the worst round of your life. A huge plus for a course like this is the fact that they have a really good driving range and an excellent putting area and a place to work on your chipping and pitching. These are the places where you get better at this game. If you want help with your swing, they've got a couple of different pros who can help you. I have to say, I love this place a lot. I was paired with three other guys and we had a fantastic nine holes of golf. One thing about Tiff.Eagle... You don't have many ball marks to fix. I extend my thanks to the receptive staff at this well-thought out golf course.

I have played many rounds at 12 Stones. It’s been almost 2 years since I’ve been here. Went last Friday. I had heard it was under new management and great improvements had been made. Sorry, didn’t see any. 60.00 at 4:00 and was told no rain checks allowed. Only was supposed to play 9. After complaining, was told they would make an exception and allow a rain check for 9. Bought 2 beers from cart girl for 5.00 a piece. After 9, decided to try and play 3 or 4 more holes as I knew it was my last trip. Never would use the rain check. 15.00 for medium bucket of balls. You can’t put lipstick on a pig. For these prices, I would rather spend the additional money and play a real golf course like Hermitage or Springhouse. 4 or 5 holes that are complete garbage. Only redeeming quality is location. Good luck. I know people are booking but for me, not worth the money. In response to owner - the nine hole raincheck was offered before we tee'd off. No one came in after 9. Raincheck is worthless if the course is not worth returning. Pricing is a non issue if the course was in better shape. I am glad you are doing well with membership and booked rounds. That just means more times available at better courses. 9 months later and nothing has changed. How are those memberships selling?

***LIVE MUSIC & Oma’s favorite spot*** (This review is on the Sand Trap at 12 Stones) I don’t know why I’m tormented, sometimes, with Google’s single rating system of one to five stars which blankets an entire experience. I wish Google would create a rating system so a reviewer could rate an establishment in four different categories. Maybe one day Google will hear my cry, but in the interim, I will break down what I think are the FOUR most important rating categories… FOOD/ DRINKS, AMBIANCE, SERVICE, & BATHROOM GAME. FOOD/ DRINKS: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ For what it is, the Sand Trap’s food is serviceable. The good news is that they have HEALTHY OPTIONS (if you are into that), or shall I say, options you can make healthier. But, let’s face it, at the end of the day, it’s glorified bar food. It is not terrible, but I would never drive over here because I am craving something delicious on their menu. Healthy options include filet mignon, smothered grilled chicken (but do not get it smothered), grilled salmon and grilled shrimp. I ordered the smothered chicken without the smothered part. So basically, just grilled chicken breast, and I got a side of broccoli. Oh, and they have an all you can eat salad bar, or at least I believe it is all you can eat. ***Verification pending*** The salad bar is okay. You can fill up quite a bit after a few passes through the line. The salad bar boasts chopped hard-boiled eggs, cubed ham, and cubed turkey, along with all the other salad bar fixings. Watered down and sloppily presented, the cocktails were sub-par, unfortunately. In their defense, they were understaffed. ***Just stick to beer or wine here*** AMBIANCE: ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️ Perhaps I don’t know the right places to look but living so close to Nashville I expected there to be a lot more restaurants with live music. Unfortunately, I only know of a handful, and to my surprise the Sand Trap at 12 Stones is one of them. WE GO HERE SPECIFICALLY FOR LIVE MUSIC, not because the musicians are extremely talented (I mean they ARE good), but because it is the only place locally that plays live music on Friday and Saturday evenings that doesn’t require us to wait an hour or more to get in. (Awedaddys Bar & Grill does live music too, but I do not enjoy the crowdedness and long wait times). Sand Trap is Oma's favorite spot, and Oma loves her live music! (Oma is my very German, 87-year-old mother-in-law who can out-drink and likely out-party anyone I know). It is a fun environment, but you will not find any white tablecloths there. Very casual attire, in fact most patrons come straight from the golf course, so you will see lots of hats, polo shirts and shorts. They also have an outdoor area you can reserve/rent out for private parties/events. SERVICE: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service was good overall. Our server was great, but as I mentioned previously, with them being understaffed and computers down it was a little hectic. Despite those things, I have no real complaints here. Our server busted her butt and was truly kind. BATHROOM GAME: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ If our eyes are the windows to our soul, then bathrooms are the windows to a restaurant's kitchen… I just made that up, and it probably made no sense, but I promise I’ve been told something similar before by a very wise man. I heard that an effective way to verify how clean a restaurant's kitchen is, you must look no further than the bathroom. If the bathroom is clean and well cared for, the theory is that the kitchen and food preparation area will be the same, and vice versa. I am not sure the reasoning behind the theory, but as a previous home inspector, I can attest to the sentiment! The bathroom was not terrible, but it needed some TLC! The soap dispenser was not working, and I almost slipped on the wet floor, but they made up for it by having a bowl of peppermint Starlights Hard candy at the host stand. In summary, we had a wonderful time celebrating Oma at the Sand Trap! Oma is moving back to Germany, so this was our bon voyage dinner for her. Overall, despite the less than 5-Star review, we will be back again soon!
