Description

The Carolina Pines/Grande View combination at Tega Cay offers the most demanding 18-hole test within the 27-hole facility. Set on bluffs above Lake Wylie, the layout uses elevation changes and sloping fairways to force golfers into creative shot-making. Generous driving areas give way to doglegs and perched greens that require disciplined positioning. Multiple tee boxes make the course accessible, but from the tips it has the feel of a championship track. With a mix of wooded corridors and open holes with lake vistas, it's one of the region's most complete public golf challenges.

Played here today, 4/5/2025. The tee boxes need a little love, but beyond that the course was in great shape. Greens are some of the best in the area. Super fun layout….its not long, but it’s a challenging course. Looking forward to playing it again soon!

My son and I had a great Sunday afternoon round, playing the Cove 9 holes. Nice facilities with several clubhouses/ snack bars, and outdoor seating. Super friendly staff. My only complaint were the rental clubs were $50 for my son. It was $32 to play 9 holes (with a cart), but $50 to rent clubs? Odd.

For a course with such high prices, it comes with such low experiences. This course is very narrow which leaves little to no room for the average golfer. The surrounding areas to the fairway are long grass that is next to impossible to hit out of. The back 9 does not offer much either, as there is feces on almost all of the tee boxes. For a $120 experience, there is a lot better of golf clubs to go to

We played the Cove, which is listed as good for beginners. I had to hit 3-wood off most tees as driver was not a real option if you can hit 220y or longer off the tee. Course conditions were 7/10 and other than the scary cart piloting on this very hilly course, I loved playing here. It’s definitely not beginner friendly. But it is really interesting and pretty short. We saw a lot of wildlife which was a treat. If you are capable of breaking 100 or nearly it’s a fine place to play. The side hill, up/down hill lies will challenge your average duffer. I had a nice laugh at the golfball graveyard on the dogleg right #2. All the residents had fences and one in particular about 175/200y off the tee let the balls sit and collect, there had to be 4 dozen balls in that yard, including my tee shot, I think because I never found my ball. Electric carts which we really enjoyed, but a definite lack of ball washers. I hope to play here again someday.

Great course with 3 nines to choose from. The Cove course is considerably less challenging and great for beginners. The greens on all three 9’s are some of the best around. Always have wildlife around and it’s in such nice shape. You really have to try to find a better course in the area. Hole 5 on the Pines is a bear of a hole, #10, #17 and #18 on the Grand View are some of the most beautiful holes in the game of golf.
