Description

The Fazio is a core, walking-friendly layout without housing, framed by native vegetation and waste areas. It balances demanding par fours with reachable par fives and a standout set of par threes. The course is intentionally not a ‚'monster' in yardage, trading length for variety and strategy. Shared Barefoot practice facilities sit nearby. From the Platinum tees Fazio is ~6,834 yards, par 71, with ratings near 73.2/145.

Four well groomed and designed golf courses. Great main clubhouse and practice green. The driving range could have used some sod work, but overall well done. The Dye course has its own clubhouse and range...and that course is like playing on Mars with volcano type sand traps and waste areas everywhere. Staff was great at all locations.

Was in Myrtle for a few days mid November. Played 4 courses, this place was the most expensive, and the worst experience. For almost a $180 round I expected better. The pace of play was atrocious literally right at the first hole, it was apparent they had let too many people out. It continued the entire round, to a point where we didn’t even get to finish the last 2 holes. We started right around noon and should have had plenty of day light to play. We were made to feel like it was the golfers fault on the course when in reality there was nowhere to go. By the time we finished the pro shop was completely closed and there was no one to talk to or offer a refund for our round. I won’t be going back to this place, I suggest playing others in the area that are not only nicer but much cheaper. Go play tidewater or grande dunes for a better experience!

What a course/beach! The Norman course was the most challenging course I’ve ever played. Very well maintained, in good shape, and tons of fun. The par 3s were extremely scenic. Some of the holes have absurdly sized sand traps that take up the whole fairway!

Course conditions were fine.. acceptable at the 177 price point for Norman. Pace of play was atrocious. We teed off with ample time in November to finish before sunset. 5.5 hours later as we finished hole 15 and the sun was setting we (as well as dozens of other golfers trying to finish) were removed from the course, told to leave without finishing and were not offered compensation. Club house closed. no option to complain or request rain check etc

Barefoot Resort & Golf in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, features top-tier golf courses designed by renowned architects such as Pete Dye, Tom Fazio, Davis Love III, and Greg Norman. Although the Norman course is picturesque, it doesn't quite match the spectacular nature of the others. The Fazio course stands out for its beauty and challenge, offering plenty of water hazards, sand traps, and "waste areas" of hard-packed sand. Our personal favorite was the Love course, surrounded by stunning natural landscapes, despite being the most difficult of the four. Adding to its charm, holes 3-7 feature recreated ruins of an old plantation home, enhancing the historical ambiance of the golfing experience. Just a short drive away, the Dye course boasts its own amenities like a restaurant and driving range, following the signature Dye layout with ample sand and waste areas. Overall, our experience on all four courses was fantastic, leaving us eager for our next visit to Barefoot Resort & Golf.
