Description

City-owned Greer is a classic Upstate parkland design that rewards shaping tee shots both ways. Recent facility updates and a welcoming practice setup make it a community hub. Strategic water and mature trees add bite without overwhelming shorter hitters. It's a course where good decisions beat raw yardage, and a stretch of scorable holes keeps hope alive late. Locals treat it as a dependable everyday track.

Had my grandson and his soon to be bride shower here today. Beautiful place, great service.

I don't always hit the links, but when I do, I prefer the luscious foothills of Greer Golf. This place is tee-rific, folks—a real hole-in-one for some much-needed solo dad time in the beautiful foothills of South Carolina! Let me tell you, I decided to leave the family at home this time—gave the Mrs., my better half, a break from my swing critiques and let the kiddos handle their own adventures—so I could sneak in some peaceful me-time on the greens. Pulling up to Greer Golf all by my lonesome was like rediscovering an old friend; the crisp mountain air hit me right away, carrying that fresh-cut grass scent that screams "relaxation station." I kicked things off at the driving range, and wow, with real grass tees instead of those finicky mats, I could really groove my irons without a soul around to witness my occasional whiffs. I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed—or the straightest driver in the bag—but this spot had me dialing in my shots like a pro, with plenty of space to ponder life's handy tips, like "keep your head down and your spirits up." Venturing onto the 18-hole course, stretching out to 6,266 yards from the back tees, felt like a personal victory lap. The fairways, blanketed in lush Tahoma 31 Bermuda grass, rolled smooth and forgiving, ideal for a casual swinger like me who's out to chase birdies without the rush. There are those clever doglegs and strategic water hazards that add just the right spice—challenging enough to keep me on my toes but not so tough they'd turn my round into a bogey bonanza. The rolling hill views had me pausing mid-backswing, soaking in the sights and sounds of birds chirping encouragement, with no distractions except my own chuckles at a well-placed pun: "This course is fore-ever in my heart!" The greens putt-erly true, and even when I three-putted (hey, every dad's got his off moments), the enthusiasm bubbled right back up, fueled by the course's historic charm and recent renovations that keep everything ship-shape. What really hooks me is how Greer Golf ties into those essential dad life themes—recharging solo, gathering handy golf wisdom, and enjoying quality time with just yourself and the game. The staff's overly helpful vibe shone through, offering tips like they were chatting with a buddy, and the unbeatable value made it feel like I'd scored an eagle on every dollar spent. I wrapped up at the clubhouse, reflecting on a day well-played, humming a tune as I packed up my clubs. If you're craving some solo swings in a spot that's fun for all skill levels, head to Greer Golf—it's a fairway to heaven! And remember, folks, sometimes the best par-tee is the one you throw for yourself.

This course was amazing to play. The best pricing you’ll ever find, not to mention how beautiful it was. The fairways and greens are in good condition and the course management as well as players constantly fill divots with sand to improve play. The were multiple water hazards on the course that made the round slightly challenging but much more enjoyable. The staff were polite and friendly. If that wasn’t already enough to put this club in the top 3 of the upstate, the drinks available were all low priced. Our group tours around to course all over the upstate of Greenville and Spartanburg, and Greer golf has definitely outshined everyone else in the area.

Enjoyed it. Open wide course. Pretty short we we played off back tees. Will be returning!! Fairly priced as well.

Nice course, reasonable price. Fairways are sloped, which makes challenging. But the course is wide open with few hazards.
