Description

Newport Country Club is one of America's most historic private golf clubs, founded in 1893 in Newport, RI, and recognized as a founding member of the USGA; it hosted the first U.S. Amateur and first U.S. Open in 1895 on its original 9-hole layout (later expanded). The classic course, influenced by early architects like Whitney Warren, features timeless design elements with undulating greens, strategic hazards, and scenic elegance amid Newport's Gilded Age heritage. It's consistently ranked among the top courses in Rhode Island for its conditioning, challenge, and prestige. The club offers premier amenities including dining and events in an exclusive, tradition-rich setting. Membership is highly selective, with golf limited to members and invited guests.

Incredibly private and amazing course with superior conditions, designed more for walking. Great service and beautiful old school clubhouse. If you get a chance to play do it!

I've died and gone to golf heaven, I've been trying to get on this course since the early 80's, and never even coming close to stepping foot on the property. Newport Country Club, founded in 1893, is a historic private golf club in Rhode Island, that hosted both the first U.S. Amateur Championship and the first U.S. Open in 1895. Newport Country Club is one of the founding 5 members of the United States Golf Association and is one of the most historical courses in the United States. The grand old clubhouse built by Whitney Warren is what just stands out so much when you first arrive. What an incredible experience to play a course that has had a big part in the evolution of golf in the United States and one that has so much historical significance. I can remember watching Tiger Woods win the US Am on TV here, but would never thought I would get a chance to play such an exclusive , that the US Presidents play in their free time...!

I had the opportunity of a lifetime to play as a guest on this beautiful, historic course. The time spent with my friend here is something I will always cherish.
