Description

Westwood is an 18-hole course that feels classic and efficient—solid routing, defined holes, and a round that rewards keeping the ball moving and staying in rhythm. At under “modern championship” length, it’s less about overpowering the course and more about hitting fairways, dialing mid-irons, and converting putts. The setup encourages ready-golf pace and a more traditional golf culture, which can make the day feel crisp and organized. It’s a good fit for golfers who prefer straightforward targets and a course that lets you focus on execution instead of searching for your ball all afternoon. Overall, Westwood delivers dependable, traditional golf—scoreable when you’re sharp, frustrating when you’re loose.

I unfortunately have nothing good to say about Westwood. I grew up down the street and still live minutes away. For the amount you pay to play here, you’re better off going to another course. It is so sad to see how poorly this course is taken care of. The cart paths are actually insane. The kicker? When you call to book a tee time they tell you to make sure you’re wearing a polo shirt. To golf at Westwood? Get a grip. Go somewhere else. Someone please buy this place and make improvements.

I played on 8/17/2025 and it was in terrible condition. Fairways burnt out, greens burnt out, some tee boxes were just dirt. Also, I had the first tee time of the day for a 2 some. We played the front 9 with no issue at a fast pace, but when we made the turn, we discovered that they had let multiple 4somes off of the back nine which resulted in us waiting on every single shot. Pretty terrible experience for $53 green fee.

The course is of course a bit dated, and yes, you will find the cart paths somewhat dangerous in places, and the routing is odd in a couple places, but the price for 18+cart is not outrageous at $39 for weekday play. Also, the greens are very well maintained and fair. Played 18 w my son in 3 1/2 hours on a Tuesday AM w no pressure to play faster...and w never having played before, we had a fine time..easy to book, not busy, and a fair price.

I usually play Westwood once a year on the Tee Time Pass at either $18 or $25 depending on the time of day I play. I would not play it for full price. I was told before I paid that holes 15 and 16 were closed for mtce, and I could hit two balls on other holes on the back 9 to make up for it. I did see them working on these holes and it made sense as these holes are some of the harshest laid out holes. The pro shop is fine and the attendant was friendly. The men’s locker room seemed to be an afterthought though with the restroom some what make shift with very poor lighting. When rating a course just after opening from the winter we need to keep in mind a lot of mtce needs done to “clean up” a course. I did see workers on the course attempting this which is always a good sign. I played Westwood last year in April and it was in better shape this year in March. The greens seemed fairly smooth for this time of year. However, none of the greens were rolled or cleared of debris. Had this been done, the greens would have been good instead of just ok. The bunkers on the first few holes are being cleaned and fresh sand was added. Unfortunately, there were many bunkers after the these holes that needed a lot of attention. The cart paths in some areas are fine in other areas they are a complete hazzard. I would not even attempt to ride on them if you value your spine. Westwood played at discount this time of year is worth it. I would not pay full price until holes 15 and 16 are playable, the traps are cleaned/updated, and the greens get rolled on a regular basis. I doubt the cart paths will be repaired any time soon. P.S. Aim left of the electric tower on the blind par 3, 4th hole.

Have been a regular at Westwood for decades. I shouldn't be because they obviously don't take any pride in the course or even try to keep up with it. I've tried multiple times this summer to book online and it's always an issue that they admit they have. So on 9/3/25 I showed up because I can't book online which said $24 for 18 holes. I get there and he tries charging me $42. Said the $24 is the online price. Then said "I guess I can give you the senior discount" and charges me $33. No.. it's $24. You admit that you have issues with the online booking then proceed to charge me more because I didn't book online. Make it make sense! This place can just shut down at this point. I am done supporting dishonesty and laziness.
