Description

Quicksilver is a popular Western PA public course known for a modern, scenic layout and a “destination daily-fee” feel. The course typically rewards committed driving—preferred lines are clear, and being out of position can quickly turn approaches into defensive plays. Elevation and open corridors can make conditions feel dynamic, with wind influencing club selection on exposed holes. It’s a strong outing course because the routing is memorable and score separation is real without being unfair. Overall, it’s a standout Pittsburgh-area public experience: strategic, scenic, and built for high-quality repeat play.

Quicksilver is in my top five in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The golf shop staff are incredibly helpful, efficient, and kind. The golf course has a great driving range, sweet chipping area, and a nice putting green if you want to get warmed up before your match. And trust me you want to get warmed up. This course is long and very challenging. The greens are lightning fast, and the hills make for a very complicated round. Number nine has owned me every time I played here yeah I'm still determined to get the better of it. The starter is the great guy to very competent and good at what he does so the pace of play is quick which makes it even more enjoyable. Quicksilver, lindenwood, Old Stone Wall, Cranberry Highlands are my top four public courses in the area.

Beautifully maintained course. Challenging but not unfair. Very friendly staff. Reasonable prices. This will definitely be a go-to course for me going forward!

If looking for a challenging round at a fair price, Quicksilver is a fit for you. There are plenty of opportunities to score or post a big number if not on your game. The course itself on July 2nd, 2025 was in very good shape considering all the rain the past few weeks. There were a few wet spots in low areas. The greens were a bit soft, but it made holding approach shots easier, and you need all the help you can get with the undulation on them. The greens rolled very well. Service in the pro shop, by the starter, and in the pub were all good. However, one worker decided to drive right past our group on a large tractor mower as we were teeing off on 15 and never stopped the entire time. One complaint/suggestion I have is to have a tee option of about 6,000 yards. Going from 6540 for the white tees all the way down to under 5500 yards for the senior tees is way too much of a gap. As some one in their mid 50’s I’m not ready to play the senior tees, but also not excited about 555-580 yard par 5’s or needing a hybrid to reach some of the longer par 4’s more than 2-3 times in a round. Building new tee boxes can be expensive. Just update your score card and do a couple of combo tee options. Many private clubs and resort courses do this and it works well. It would also be nice to have some water and a restroom or two on the course.

Originally from the area and back on a visit. Played with a friend from Texas. Lush fairways and greens. Very nice layout with great approach views of the clubhouse. Staff very friendly. Pace of play for a Saturday morning was good. This is a country club level course open to the public. Take advantage to try it out.

Quicksilver is a fun layout. Open and friendly off the tee, but uneven second shots and fast, smooth greens can make it difficult. First time playing, very difficult with blind tee shots and not knowing what greens look like. Pace of play was good on a Monday morning. Course is terrific condition, especially the greens. Hope to be back soon.
