Description

Foxburg is one of America’s oldest golf courses, and it feels like it—historic, charming, and more about pure golf enjoyment than modern brawn. The layout is compact and traditional, so the challenge shifts to precision, creativity, and putting rather than overpowering the course. The experience is also scenery-forward, with a classic small-town club vibe that makes the round feel like stepping into a different era. It’s a fantastic place for golfers who love golf history, because you can feel the lineage in the routing and the setting. Overall, Foxburg is a true bucket-list Western PA stop: historic, unique, and memorable even if you never look at the scorecard.

Had a great day golfing at Foxburg Country Club! The building is so charming with all of its history and architecture, and of course the lovely woman who checked us totally set us up for success. She told us a few tips, tricks, and shortcuts to maximize our time on the course. The bar was quant, had an informal dining room, small pro shop, and museum upstairs. Drinks were reasonable (about $5 each for 2 cans), and we sat outside to enjoy our post-round beverages. There was no food there, but if we brought our receipt to the Allegheny Grill (minutes away in downtown Foxburg), I believe you got 10% off your check. The course itself was very well maintained, not perfect, but honestly that’s part of the charm. It’s so cool knowing that we’re playing on one of the longest-running golf courses in the US. The greens were close to the tees (and houses!), so precision is key. This is a 9 hole course, but you can play again to make it 18 with some variation to the tee. Golf carts were in great shape, too. I HIGHLY recommend playing and making the trip here!! You can tell how much they appreciate your business and I can’t wait to come back to play again!

Even in late August the course was in pretty decent shape! It's a fast, fun course that rewards accurate shots, but doesn't obliterate you for offline ones. The girl at the front desk was awesome, friendly and was somehow in 10 places at once it seemed! Get your clubs and enjoy yourself.

I played 9 here today. Course was fun to play. Would have given them five stars but the course was full of dry brown spots. Know it's not their fault since it has been so dry....the lady in the pro shop was fantastic. Will definitely play it again.

A must do . The oldest continuing golf course in America. Basically 9 holes ,even though they say 10. The course and the town of Foxburg is is very historical. Great restaurant/winery / pizza shop/ candy / hotel . Beautiful library _auditorium. Spend some time, enjoy!

The Pro shop went above and beyond with getting our group out to play.
