Description

Rolling Green in Eighty Four offers a relaxed, community-friendly public course experience designed for steady, repeatable rounds. The layout rewards keeping the ball in play and choosing conservative targets into greens, since avoiding compounding mistakes is the fastest path to a good score. It’s approachable for mixed-skill groups and league play, with a routing that’s easy to learn and comfortable to play often. Better players can still enjoy it by tightening wedge distances and converting birdie chances when they appear. The atmosphere tends to be welcoming and low-pressure, making it easy to settle into a round without fuss. Overall, it’s dependable Washington County-area golf: straightforward, repeat-play friendly, and easy to enjoy.

I don’t normally trash courses, especially after the weather we’ve had… but this may be the worst kept course in western Pennsylvania. There’s a difference between weather effecting golf conditions and not caring… they don’t care. $49 for 18 is a ripoff. Ground hornets everywhere. Bunkers were weeds, rocks, and water. I try to be lenient with public courses but this was so bad it needs to be posted. Just have some pride in your course that’s all people ask for.

Great value. Table top greens in great shape. They pride themselves on the greens there and it shows. Fun holes. Fun layout. It's a hike but it's walkable given the layout. Props to the groundskeepers. One of the employees told me they only have four guys working the course. If that's true they do an incredible job. I had a nice round. I'll come back.

Great little course, very well maintained considering the abuse it takes. Not a lot of respectful Golfers on the course as I will find divots all the time on Greens. But if you are there early the greens keepers will always have them fixed and the greens rolled. I've been to multiple courses the last couple weeks, Butler's, Chippewa, & South Park. And I can tell you hands down that Rolling Green was by far the best kept. We are in fall season and I had no issues losing my balls due to leaves. I couldn't say that for the other courses. Nothing more frustrating hitting a good drive and not able to find your ball which is layes up under leaves. It's a pretty easy course , if you drive the ball 270 , you only need a driver, wedge & putter. It does play really slow, but most courses I play now does sadly. Too many people playing this game and not playing their shots. They don't like where the ball went, hey hit another one. If that one sucked which they usually do, then they hit another. Oh that balls in the rough, let me take it out, sand bunker yeah these golfers don't play those either. Good little course, just not Golfers playing it. If you can put up with that , then you will like it.

Played on 4/11/25 after a lot of rain the past week. Despite the rain the course was in very good shape with no ponding any where on the course including the bunkers which were in fine shape. The greens had been cut in the morning and rolled as well as any local course around. The only downside on the course was the amount of garbage in the wooded areas around holes 3 and 4. It is a shame people throw their empty cans, bottles etc when refuse containers are on most holes. I would encourage the grounds folks take a day to clean up as it detracts from the course. The course itself is about 5800 yards and a par 72 from the tips. Add the fact that many holes measured 15-20 yards shorter on my gps than the hole markers or scorecard. If you can drive it 250 from the tips you will have wedge in on almost all the par 4s. The 2 par 5’s on the front 9 play well less than their yardage, and need to be either lengthened some how or changed to par 4’s. A par 70 or 71 at 5800 yards would be a much better test. Nothing but good things to say about the staff at the course. They are always friendly.

Staff was tremendous. Back 9 was beautiful. Short, semi challenging course. Some of the fairways on the front 9 were in BAD BAD shape..greens were a little roughed up as well. But for a busy public course later in the season.. wasn’t the worst. I’d play again. PS. Some of you need to learn pace of play and etiquette.
