My first time ever going golf I’d highly recommend this place! A friend and I played the back 9 on the green side! Best experience ever!!! Thank you guys for making it such a great first time! Will definitely be back for range time and other golf activities! Best sandwich I’ve ever eaten too!

I swear Great Blue could be one of the best courses in the region if it got a little more funding from the city to keep it in shape. Great golf course regardless. The layout is soooo good.

There are two 18 hole courses, Greenback and Great Blue. The former is slightly shorter and flatter while the latter requires much more skills. I like both of them, but if you like challenges, I would play Great Blue, which has hosted US Amateur. They are City of Portland municipal courses, so they are reasonable in price, but the fairways are not as pristine as private courses in Portland. As far as I know, there are no frost or fog delays. Both of them are quite walkable, but electric carts are available. I would say #18 on Great Blue is the signature hole and #13 for Greenback.

I love Great Blue. Played in mid January. Given the time of year and how much rain we've had the course was in really good shape, especially the greens. But I have to ding them for the bunkers. Its time to order some sand. But all in all Kudos to the team at Heron Lakes.

Played Greenback and found it pretty challenging. Water hazards on many of the holes and a lot of greens surrounded by bunkers. If you play during sunrise bring extra balls as I had a hell of a time finding mine due to plugged lies in fairway and rough.
