Great coastal Oregon gem. Really fun design and great conditions. Greens were very pure. Fairways were still firm and pace was pretty fast. Started on the back 9 which had several holes with beautiful ocean views. Front 9 was pretty too but I prefer the back. The pro shop was very friendly as was everyone else I encountered. I highly recommend this course and I will be back

I golf here frequently. My daughter and her boyfriend joined us for a beach trip in early May. We were surprised by great weather so we walked on for 18. What an awesome experience. Salishan has always been a good resort course but they have recently really upped their game to a country club experience. In true Peter Jacobson fashion the fairways are narrow and well groomed. Lots of elevated greens. The front 9 are carved out of the old growth forest. You miss the fairway and oh....!!!. The back 9 has awesome views as you go out to the bay and near the ocean. All the par 3s are challenging with elevation changes or in the case of 11 a brisk wind off the bay. The greens had recently been aerated but they were well sanded, quick and true. At the end of the day two cart boys met us at our car..cleaned our clubs, loaded them in the trunk and took the carts while we went shopping in the clubhouse. All in all a 5++ star experience.

Great challenging course, played there two days ago october 21st beautiful views on back where we started greens played really fast. Our TT was 10 am the morning Pro shop guy was really friendly and welcomed us that is always a good start, once we were done I checked the Pro shop to get a hat or whatever they had but the Pro shop changed staff and the guy behind the counter had a bad attitude and was kind of rude ,really? So just ended up with a couple of Ducks logo golf balls because that guy didn't really do a good players service,If he doesn't like his job go somewhere else make other people miserable not golfers paying a good amount of money to enjoy themselves

Brief Summary: Great course with great amenities, but overpriced. Let me explain! Course Review: The course is gorgeous - On the coast, great views, great layout, challenging pin placements, and tee boxes that accommodate everyone of all skill levels. However, the conditions of some of the course is average at best, with some fairways waterlogged, brown, and 40% of the tee boxes hardly maintained enough for you to consider it a “tee box”. Keep in mind I am comparing this course’s conditions to other course conditions that are around the same price point around $110-$150 for 18 holes; and overall it is sub par. I will say, the greens are great. They are pure and roll quick. But like I said before, the views are gorgeous, I just wish the conditions were better. Amenities Review: Free tees, free warm up range balls, and free coffee with the green fee price you pay. There is a small locker room off to the side that you can use that has shaving cream, razors, and other personal maintenance items. A thing to note - there is an on course bathroom after hole 4 I believe, that is absolutely disgusting. It’s not maintained whatsoever and can be compared to a public gas station bathroom you would find in downtown Portland. Cart Review: The carts themselves are great. They’re electric and go quick. All of them also come with a cart cover that is useful when it gets windy. Again being nit picky, I do wish the carts had GPS attached to them. For the price point that this course is at, they should come with the GPS feature that shows you which hole you’re on, how far you are away from the pin, etc. I always recommend a rangefinder regardless of whether there is or isn’t a GPS in the cart, but like I said I wish they included them - I’ve been to courses that are around $60 for 18 that have them. Overall: Course is great, challenging, and has great views. The conditions are mediocre to better than average at best, that should warrant a lower price but nonetheless it is a great course and a course that I would recommend!
