So, I've been playing here most of my golfing life (43yrs playing the game). In fact my grandfather was a local business owner and he held a tournament for his purveyors here annually, until he sold his business in the early 90's. I've seen the course in bad shape as well as in great shape. With that said I've got 2 separate instances I'd like to share. 1. The staff has been fairly decent throughout the years until recently. I was playing in a foursome last week when it started raining. We got through 2 holes and decided to call it quits. So, we got rain checks. Later that day 3 out of 4 of us came back after the weather cleared up (4:30ish). Earlier we had gotten power carts but when we came back, I decided to walk the course. We used our rain checks and to our surprise we were charged an extra $27. Not sure why our rain checks didn't cover our round, especially during twilight hours. We were told to have the cart back by 7. We were behind an extremely slow group so after the 7th we decided to hop over to the 12th it was about 6:40pm when we did this. We figured we'd have time to play 12, 13, 14, 15, and then hit 18 before it was time to return the cart. We had teed off on 13 when we were met by an extremely rude young lady demanding the cart back now. Keep in mind it's still before the time when the cart was due back. She started yelling at us saying we only paid for nine holes. She then followed us so we could pick up our drives and then followed the 2 in the cart all the way back to the clubhouse. I feel we shouldn't of had to pay anything extra as well as been able to play as much as we wanted until the cart had to b back (just like the twilight players) since it was later in the evening when we returned. 2. I was playing by myself about 5 days prior to my first instance. Got to 18 and I happened to let my drive get away from me. I pushed it over to the tenth hole about 100 yards from the 10th tee box. So, I reloaded and wouldn't u know it, I did it again. So, now I've got a pro v-1 as well as a pro v-1x on the 10th hole, both brand new white balls. I see that same rude young lady from my first instance over on the 10th picking up range balls. No big deal, didn't even come anywhere close to her with my errandt tee shots. As I'm walking up to my balls I could see her in the general area of where they landed and after a search of the area, they were gone. I asked her if she had picked them up, which she Saud she didn't. I then asked her if she wouldn't mind checking in her ball shagger. She reluctantly did and the throws my pro v-1x down and says "here, that'd the only one I picked up." I said I hot 2 right on top if each other. She just turned and went towards the clubhouse. I picked up my ball and called it a day. Golf balls are expensive, especially pro v-1's. There's better ways to do business than the way this rude employee had/has done. Not sure how gresham golf course can survive without some much needed changes in the staff. Sincerely, Luke W.

I've played here a couple of times, mostly because it's close to our son's house. As mentioned by other reviewers, the course is in pretty good shape. However, the greens, while in overall good shape, are covered in unrepaired ball mark. In all the times I've played here, I haven't seen a Marshall, so speed of play is slow and static. The staff that greets you at the turn is more than happy to tell you you're playing "too slow". Last night we played 9 in two hours and fifteen minutes and we're mildly berated for slow play. We were right on the backside of the duo in front of us. I get that it's a municipal course, but at least treat your paying guests with respect and have a Marshall on the course to keep the pace of play going.

The course was very well maintained, but the marshall is very concerned about how fast you play. It was my first time playing golf and he hounded us for the last 5 holes about things we could do to speed up. I would not recommend going here if you are new to the sport.

Low cost but you get what you pay for. Greens are surprisingly decent (aside from ball marks) but pace of play is a huge issue. Probably wouldn't come back unless you live nearby. Lot of rowdy guys in cargo shorts. No ball marks fixed, no bunkers raked, loud music all over.
