It took me two years to decide whether or not to write this review, but the experience has bothered me ever since I stopped taking lessons with my instructor. This is actually the first 1 star review I’ve ever left. I always thought people who left 1 star reviews were exaggerating, but after what I went through, I couldn’t rate it any higher.
From the very first lesson, I felt misled. At the time, they were advertising a promotion: buy 8 lessons and get 3 free. I was also told the first session would be more of a consultation and wouldn’t count as one of my paid lessons. I signed up under those terms. After the first “consultation,” I checked my receipt and realized it had been counted as a lesson. When I brought it up, nothing was done to correct it. That session consisted of talking for about 30 minutes while the instructor watched me hit a few balls and took notes. No real pointers, no advice, just a promise that if I continued, he’d “reveal more.” It felt like a bait and switch.
As lessons went on, the issues continued. The instructor would often disappear for 5–7 minutes to look for training aids, leaving me to hit balls without feedback. Sometimes he came back without even finding what he was looking for. To make matters worse, when lessons ended, I asked if I could use the leftover range balls I hadn’t hit yet to practice on my own. He said no, citing “policy.” Considering the cost of lessons, that response was shocking. I wasn’t asking for a new bucket, just to use what I had already paid for.
One lesson in particular stands out. I requested bunker practice. Instead of a designated area, we drove around the course in a cart for about 15 minutes looking for an unused bunker. When we finally found one, we could only stay for about 10 minutes before needing to move again due to players teeing off. By the end of that session, I had spent roughly 25 minutes riding in a cart and only about 20 minutes actually practicing. It felt like a complete waste.
In total, I completed about 6–7 lessons out of the 11 I had paid for. Despite the upfront cost and the 45 minute drive each way, I couldn’t bring myself to continue. Looking back, I wish I had asked for a refund for the unused lessons, but unfortunately, I didn’t.
I’ve held back on writing this review for a long time because I truly don’t like leaving negative feedback. But after sitting with the feeling of being ripped off for so long, I think it’s important to share my experience. I hope anyone considering lessons here will think twice and look at other options.
