Description

Lake Murray State Park Golf Course is a long-standing favorite in southern Oklahoma. The course meanders through wooded parkland with occasional lake views. Fairways are generous, but water and trees come into play frequently enough to demand careful planning. Its state park location adds to the laid-back, natural vibe. Campers and travelers alike enjoy pairing outdoor recreation with a round of golf here.

Robert, checked us in early this morning what a nice gentleman. Very informative and professional. The course is absolutely beautiful T-boxes, fairways and greens well kept up. I like that I can push my tee into t-box area easily, unlike other courses. Cart path is better than some other courses as well. Will be back very soon. Thank you Lake Murray Golf Course

Enjoyed playing 18 at Lake Murray today. It’s a demanding course and if your skill level is up to the challenge, your sure to enjoy it. There is quite a bit of difference in the hole layouts and no sand traps. I originally had thought of walking and was glad I took a cart. Nice to see the maintenance crew hard at work in different areas. Very nice pro shop and merchandise selection.

For a state park course, LMGC is a much better setting then say Chickasaw Point and compared publicly to Perkins or OKC Hefner courses. It’s about 2 stars but can’t give it 4 although it was a good track. The course : Tee boxes on half the holes were pretty stubborn. Fairways were pretty good overall and despite the heat we had great lies all day. The greens are very small as you’d expect from a state park setup and were better than most city courses. The layout has a few doglegs like 1 and 10 and it’s a great track overall. Only 2 holes have water to somewhat negotiate , yes 1 and 10. After that it’s a very fair layout and is over all a pretty nice setting about a mile from Lake Murray. Ball washers need to be replaced, signage needs to be vastly updated and even displayed as we had some holes with no markings and the ball washers are just antiquated and not good. Cart paths were broken in many places. Some portable outhouses on course were placed for relief. And we saw no cart girl and no water on course anywhere. That’s a big minus overall especially on a hot day. The clubhouse has a very little stocked area for apparel and golf items and a mini snack area for drinks but nothing more. Outside the clubhouse is rundown and needs a ton of attention. 2 players for $93 and gas carts with zero amenities overall is what you get. No resort feel but no city course feel either. This facility could be a premier setting with the beautiful lake nearby. But it needs a better maintenance team to clean up the course and upgrade the golf related items like signage and ball washers etc and a better clubhouse and you have yourself a gem of a place.

first off this course should not be rated 4.5. the tee boxes are are bad, the fairways are meh, the greens are ok but really small. The staff are nice. You might not be able to get anything at the turn because there is only one register and if the is anyone in line good luck. Now why my experience was bad. I woke up a little early and found a 7:20 tee time on a course rated 4.5, Thought i lucked out. On second hole a train of about 20 carts passed me and set up for a tournament in front of me. what I was hoping for a four hour round turned into a 5.5 hour round. Again nice people but they shouldn't advertise tee times in the middle of a tournament. I came from Dallas and would have gone someplace else if I had known. Would not recommend

Had a great time with my group out there. It's a great course with some challenging greens. Distance on some holes were also a great challenge. Overall very enjoyable!
