Description

Located in Valley City, Coppertop Golf Course is carved into rolling hills with a scenic countryside backdrop. Elevation changes test players on both tee shots and approaches. The course includes risk-reward opportunities, especially on shorter par-fours. It's a favorite for its friendly staff and fun layout. The course is approachable for beginners while still engaging for experienced golfers.

For anyone to say this course.is well maintained clearly hasn't played many well maintained courses. The fairways were in terrible condition. The greens had alot of rough spots. The course would be pretty in the fall but being pretty doesnt make it a good course. Then to charge $95 for 2. Good grief. Outrageous and definitely not worth it. Maybe $35 for 2. Definitely a miserable one and done for us.

Haven't been here in many years. Course is in great shape. Very tight fairways and well protected greens with false sides on every single green. Speed and conditions of greens were very good. If you're newer to the game this will be a very tough round for you. The staff here was very pleasant and helpful. Highly recommend this place for anyone wanting a good challenge.

Challenging Course with Great Staff: Have played here a couple times and enjoy the challenging layout that makes you think and plan out the way you want to play the hole vs. just grip it and rip it. The greens were in very good shape - especially for just having an outing right before our outing. What impressed me even more than the course was the staff. Everyone was helpful and friendly and saw several examples of employees going the "extra mile". Hard to find at most golf courses and makes me want to tee it up at Coppertop again.

Coppertop is a nice golf course. Let me start with the positives. The gentleman that rang us out was very nice and welcomed us knowing it was our first time there. The approach in the first hole was very pretty and set the tone. The course is more challenging than I expected based on the hills and trees so if you want to be tested, this is a good start. I’m a novice so I need a course that’s a little more forgiving. Be prepared to lose balls in the water and the woods, but that’s no fault of the course. Pleasant Valley and Bunker Hill are just more forgiving (and a little more pristine). The girl going around offering drinks and such was so nice. She was probably the friendliest person we encountered. Price was right. Electric golf carts were quiet. The cons … we looked for the starter, nowhere to be found. We found a young kid (who was pleasant) and he said we could take any cart and go. We were confused by the lack of structure and explanation/greeting. In any case, we took the cart and got in line at hole 1. We were able to pace ourselves behind a twosome so we found we didn’t NEED the starter but it will still odd. I did say that hole 1 was pretty and inviting and it was - minus the overflowing garbage pictured. Maybe we just missed an outing and the course was behind on cleanup but this was a theme at each hole. This is a course for 30-somethings who want to drink and smoke weed. It’s a nice bachelor party course. My husband and I are 43 and maybe too old for the vibe this was giving. The hole layout was only on the back of the scorecard. It wasn’t on the sign for the hole. No GPS cart to assist in direction and yardage (a first world problem I know). Thankfully most holes were straightforward; just lots of trees. Ranking the surrounding courses, Bunker Hill as 1, Pleasant Valley as 2, Coppertop as 3, Ridge Top dead last and always will be. Ridge Top has WAY MORE trees and be prepared to lose 85 balls over 18 holes. Coppertop a solid 3-3.5.

Nice place and loved the lay out. Carts were good. Greens were nice and challenging. Only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because some of the fairways are probably the worst I have seen.
